@tommysammy
ok I am still preparing my AmigaOS 4 box (got a new case and Harddrive) when I am done I will check it out. I assume that maybe some windows positioning calls may cause trouble.. this was something if I remember correctly Andrea Palmatè fixed for us back than..

Also I can remember that the HD drivers and AMC didn't like each other.. or the old mplayer build. (because of missing overlay)

I have soon a break from main job for 2 weeks than I can check it out to see if
I assume you are using AmigaOS 4 FE?

Is the new mplayer build available already? (beta)

@tommysammy
BTW.. did you use the option to choose a path to the new mplayer binary or did you replace the binary in the AMC folder?

Please try the way of adding the path in the AMC settings.

@phoenixkonsole

I have AmigaOs4.1 final on my X1000 with Radeon HD .
We don't have overlay,we are using compyuv.It is the like overlay but for RadeonHD.You can download MPlayer 6.4 from Os4depot. The latest Mplayer is still in beta status and will appears soon.

Born to fail : )
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/681890174/quantahome-quantum-computing-for-raspberry-pi

Any donation is appreciated... But in fact it is like preordering. In case the campaign fails I offer every donor a 20% discount for one of the offered rewards which will be made available after this.
You will get the money back from Kickstarter if it fails.

Promotion will start slowly next week.. And no I don't fill it with my own money, family or whatever.. It may fail but than in honor

Sad but true. Your kickstarter campaign is really messy. Average visitor have no clue whats really going on there. Is all about AmiCloud or QuantaHome and what the hell is Amicloud btw. Thats what people will think, before they run away.

If I would have to do such campaign, I would choose one thing, one logo, one message. For example AmiCloud - cloud service with unlimited traffic supporting even older (retro) computer systems like Amigas and PPC Macs. Basic account would be 5 EUR a year for 10 GB, unlimited traffic.
It would be also good to show at least one client for cloud services already working.

Also the Amicloud page is unmeaning and few nice videos full of empty words won't save the day.

@ExiE
Well.. I know : )
I have chosen the 60 days to be able to continually answer questions and update it with status reports and side information.. (will update it till the end : p )

I am not interested in getting it financed fully (I paid most costs already), it is ok to reach some outsider and get them interested in what else is available nowadays in Amigaland.

I don't play the Kickstarter mafia game where only campaigns with a PR-budget surpassing the target get funded..

All in all i "misuse" it a little.

The problem is not that people don't have a clue. The problem is that only 600 had a glimpse at it at all ; )

I will slowly moly provide content and clarifications based on questions I got so far and than maybe I will use the second half (30days to promote it).

I cross my fingers that we can start prior the deadline... so what stays is a small PR campaign on Kickstarter...

One positive side-effect so far:
I got the right to produce the Walker case and whoever.. people don't donate but order like insane. Maybe they don't like to wait.

Small Update:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/681890174/quantahome-quantum-computing-for-raspberry-pi/posts/1313836

The client seems to work now and with a bit of luck we will be ready before the Kickstarter campaign ends (with the SAAS part = cloud storage, the rest will take a while due to holiday season).

As soon the internal tests are done we will start a beta (September). I plan to allow 1000 accounts during this time on a first comes first base.

The real opening (for non Amigans) will happen later when the "website" is ready.

After finishing the client we will focus on the HTTPS-PlugIN for Hollywood.

If you like you can save money while donating to the campaign.. it will fail but it doesn't matter : ) You can help to reduce the "blame factor" by donating and I will give you a 20% discount after the campaign for the reward you donated to.

Could be the client, Walker case or whatever.. If I find time I will add this weekend another Walker based design which hold only a Raspberry pi + one extension, so it will be again way smaller. Personally i plan to use the Walker design for the indieGO!-Console which will be just a Pi2... but this will take another 1 and a half year.... and so it may be based on a Pi3.... Whatever step by step all problems get solved...
Hollywood got 3D acceleration, we can now run Windows and i386 app on AEROS(4ARM), streaming and cloud service will be available, AppStore is underway and the igo package system will allow us to create and offer universal apps in one step for all systems.

After the boring infrastructure work we will focus on Software (ports and own stuff )

Soon we will offer a early access to AmiCloud. We will start with 100 slot for the AmigaOS 4.x version.

This will help us to hunt down platform dependent bugs and suggestions.

If you wan't to stay in touch you could visit the Facebook page : )

@tommysammy
: ) Ok I will call you

The first release will offer only basic functions like:
1. Defining a sync folder which will be synced between your Computers/Cloud
2. Sharing public links which can be downloaded via webrowser
We will start with 1GB space per user in the basic account. (beta users will get 2GB when we finish the testing phase, or the double amount of normal accounts if it will be raised)
As promised there will be no bandwidth limit for your shared files.
Basic account will cost a "one-time" 5€ with no monthly fee.
But I must tell:
For each platform you like to get the client you will need to pay 5€.

Means:
If you buy the AmigaOS 4 client, you can install it on as many AmigaOS machines you like.

But if you like to sync your AmigaOS4 machines with your Windows machines, you will need to pay another 5€ for the Windows client. Than you are free to install it on as many Windows machines you like as well.

A pro account with 10GB will follow but it will cost 50€/year (also unlimited bandwidth)
Price will not rise if you stay from the beginning. It may change for later registrations.
Whatever the Pro account will need a bit more work and I would like to offer also features like Virtual Machines.

So there will be a pool and you can try to get acces to a VM. The client will tell the server "Hey I need a VM with the following OS", the server will start a new VM with a Image containing the OS of choice". The client will run your VNC/RDP client to access the VM. Inside the VM you can store files in your AmiCloud space.
This is needed because the server will delete the "used" VM after you logout and creates a new "clean" one next time you log in.

On Amiganoids we will offer those via RDP or VNC... we will see what works better. On Windows/Mac/Linux we will use Moonlight(former limelight).

Time goes by and space will get less expensive... so it is very likely that we will double the space sooner than later.

*
Maybe interesting for programmers:
We can provide API-access so you can make use of it in your own apps.
Same is valid for the indieGO!-Store...

BTW: To make things simpler the cloud will use the indieGO!-ID so on Broadway and AEROS you will just need to enter you ID to activate such elements... (soon and only if you bought them ; ))

Would be cool to think a bit more and make a proper pricelist...

pro account cost 50€/year and what about other clients 50€/year, 5€/year or what.

Combine account fee with clients fee is mixed and hard to follow for the users
