so cloanto are trying to take the amiga trademark, and now the amikit developer is, too? is this some sort of joke? i'll be damned if i buy anything from either of them ever again.

I can't say this applies, but I do see where certain trademarks have been renewed, while others have not.

As far as "right and wrong" go, I can't comment as I haven't the legal background.

So you wouldn't support either company simply because they attempted to secure the trademark?

Kind of tough to appreciate their motivations in advance isn't it?

Politics, nepotism, forged signatures... Trying to become popular by registering the Amiga trademark seems to be a match made in heaven! What next, will they rename Verbraucherschutzpartei in Amigaschutzpartei (Amiga Defense Party)?

Thank you for the additional info.

We should keep in mind that this is just a "filing" and not a registration. Sometimes this is done just to gauge reaction.
When Hyperion filed for AmigaOne, AmigaOS, and BoingBall with uspto, this was most likely also a test of how the system would react. Such reaction sometimes helps formulate future strategies.

Developer? Hyperion and Cloanto are developers. AmiKit (Jan Zahurancik) seems to excel at telling other people what to do. And then branding it with cat pictures, hippy music festival photos and promoting "gifts" and "generosity" to bag all the money... Very smart... Maybe his Master Degree in Psychology (LinkedIn) contributed to seducing me initially, but after this Amiga mark filing I think I under$tand the true nature...

There has been activity regarding both the Cloanto euipo filing for Workbench and the Hyperion euipo filing for Workbench.

Comparing with the previous version, I think they appointed (rather than changed) a EU representative. This may have been a requirement to defend against Hyperion's opposition.

It is the same representative they already had for the "Cloanto" EU mark.

My apologies for overlooking new info on another trademark.
I had been following workbench and amigaforever for obvious reasons, along with the uspto and euipo filings for Amiga.
