And they have a license from IBM.

Really f'ing weird.
IBM doesn't normally license squat.

Not to mention that its about ten years to late.

So, $99 for a personal version of a 32 bit OS that can run Win 3.1 software.

That is about as crazy as it gets.
BUT...suddenly AmigaOS doesn't sound so "out there".

@iggy

They mainly did it for enterprise use for companies stuck with OS/2 software. Many of them come from eComStation, which was a continuation of OS/2 that stalled. They ask quite a bit of money, but their download server crashed as soon as it came out and they're noting high demand.

OK, its getting to be a strange world we are living in.
And I thought that attitude I was developing was just from the number of Trump supporters I've had recently talking to me about alien invaders (the outer space kind) and FEMA death camps.

Maybe Amigans AREN'T as crazy as I'd presumed.
OR, they are, BUT they're just typical of a growing trend.

I can see where you're coming from, but we're definitely not crazy. The Amiga platform has it's merit and that's why it survives (threefold). For me, it reminds me of the classic MacOS. Furthermore, despite the drama, it has an interesting history and development.

Hmm, I rather like OSX, but I sort of see your point.

Anyway, we are WAY off topic though.
Sooner or later someone will point this out (or we'll get a nasty message from a sysop).

SO, the topic IS Tim De Groote, the director of Hyperion. Whom I'll admit I like considerably better then Ben Hermans, as he stays on topic. And the topic, as it should be from a Hyperion front man, is the company and their products.

Not a bad article. Nice to know that OS 4.2 is still the goal.

With AROS proving that SMP is possible, I hope AOS4 won't be far behind. I don't know all too much about Hyperion except that they aren't far from me and Mr. De Groote has been quite friendly and enthusiastic about AmigaOS 4.

@WolfpackN64

Yeah, De Groote seems to be a genuine enthusiast.
And things are moving forward, so its cool.

I have a lot of friends that don't care for Hermans (even though most of them think quite highly of the developers in the OS4 community).

Having a different face for the company can only do good.
