Giving an inch was a bad idea, because you smelled blood, and went on the attack. Now I definitely I won't give it a rest Feel free to make a poll whether actual users want you to play catch-up with AMD in perpetuity. Remember when I kept crusading about a complete OpenGL support instead of OpenGL ES2 without all the "horrible legacy crap"? I was told constantly how I was wrong, and yet MiniGL reloaded is being in the development. Can you tell me why? It must not be because just me, so cut out the patronizing nonsense about different opinions.

o my only selling point would be a GPU that's a lot easier to program.

But would that not be a major selling point for small/embedded market?

For what it's worth, I personally think you are doing an awesome and most needed work for the NG scene..

Sorry, I don't get your point. Is having a disagreement on a forum going to lead more lives being ruined?

No, but "Hyperion's end" very well might do that - and its actions in the past very well might have done that - and your off-topic argument is distracting from that.

@cgutjahr

Thread went off topic from about second or third post .
Second or third post should have been something like

"Only time will tell"

The true purpose of Hyperion with the PPC is to rob all 68k coders they can to kill the 68k platforms...

That is just crazy, lots 680x0 coders like peek and poke AGA/CIAA timers and stuff like that. you can't do that on AmigaONE hardware, if was possible to do so you not think about AmigaONE hardware platform as different platform, you probably think about as Amiga platform.

Actually we are moving in the direction of some kind of unification platforms, look at Hollywood programing language, it excellent for creating software for all platforms.

I also like expand the Amos language into the Next generation computers, allowing for a bigger market for AMOS developers, imagine being able to sell their games to MorphOS, AROS, AmigaOS4 and AmigaOS3.x users, write once run on many platforms.

What a great opportunity for everyone Developers and Users.

Fair enough, it is indeed off-topic here.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I/we already have the data we need to set priorities, and it goes beyond just "what people want/think."

Starting with GLES2 was absolutely the best way forward to get Warp3D Nova and modern GL out the door. Of course we want MiniGL reloaded for existing apps, and I repeatedly suggested Regal (didn't know about GL4ES) as the path forward to get full OpenGL multiple times while you were on your "crusade."

My apologies if you find what I say patronizing, but we really do have more data to base our decisions on than you. And I'd appreciate it if you could stop continually telling me/us that our priorities and/or decisions are wrong and you know it better.

Hans

Hi All

What will happen to Amiga OS4 if Hyperion goes bust from wasting to much time and money on legal crap. Will it get sold or will it just be left to die :(

IMO the same thing that's been happening since 1994: bought then sold, bought then sold.

//AOS Operation Algorithm
Repeat{

New_Owner = Buy_AOS_Assets();

While ( Current_AOS_Owner != Bankrupt ){
Make_Promises = true;
Write_Code = true;
Deliver_Product = isCompletionProbability();
}

Sell_Assets = true;

} until ( isPotentialCustomers() == false);

return 0;

Yes, I probably had too much extra time on my hands to create this comment.

@davidf215

They should streamline the process, so it doesn't take so long each time.

That's why we constantly have the "port to new powerful h/w" threads, to run this code faster.

I thought it was for faste reboots. After all, that is what Amiga users care most about, how fast their systems can reboot. Because that is what Amiga systems do most of the time, reboot :)

Hi Hans, first of all thanks for you work, then I would like to ask you, if you can tell us, what's "Regal"?

Thanks
