Hmm... I get my Android 7.0 phone mounted on Poseidon (MorphOS) with the PTP driver although it looks to use MTP at the phone end. In any case I can see both my interal storage and extenal SD card on the mounted device and can access all kinds of files, not just pictures...
Well it looks like MOS is ahead of OS4 (again) with USB drivers. Not surprised. When was the last time an OS4 USB bug was fixed or feature added? Gee it was that long.

Soo.. should OS4's PTP driver work also? Are the protocols compatible? Or are there some extensions in Poseidon ptp class?
I don't think so. I just tested it with Oreo and only pictures came up with PTP. I also seee AEON has taken over my system with its own PTP driver. The sysrtem one used to work for me. Soon OS4 will have no built in programs left.
AFAIK the protocol is different. One is PTP, the other MTP. They may work similar but are different enough.
I think Poseidon must have some extensions if MTP works.

I tell you. This will be a lot of stuffing around. All you want to do is plug your phone into your computer.
But OS4 isn't the only one. A PPC Mac also also unsupported. There is an Android MTP driver but it's broken and doesn't work.
You will go through the motions. Install FTP or file share software. Connecting to it over the network. Fiddle around. Since I find FTP with Android devices is fiddly and not the easiest way to do it.
Right now I gave up. And just plug it into a PC. Since that works I've lost the need to plug it onto OS4. Yes I know that doesn't help. But that's how things are on OS4.
A work around would be to get an OTG USB stick, mini USB at one end and standard USB on the other. Plug it into your phone. Copy files across. Dismount. Insert into OS4 machine. Copy files.
