@thread
Wasn't this thread about promised interviews? Interviews for which the interviewer asked for patreon-$ in advance to cover travel costs and which weren't delivered until now without further notice so that some clarifying statement from his side is more than due? Hyperion is usually an appropriate target for well deserved bashing but in this case Mr. Clusteruk who's seemingly following some duck and cover strategy here is the one to blame, for bad communication at least.

Oh, and hi!

@FairBoy

Welcome!

Wow what a first post! You'll fit right in with the 'holding people to account that are investing their own pocket change and spare change in a hobby' thing!

Seriously though, yes Stephen Jones should give us an update. In his defence, he's a good guy and maybe he's still hopeful he can get the interviews once travel restriction ease or maybe he'll do it online and refund the travel money if any was taken?

@BigD

Stephen asked for questions to be submitted to his email address when this began.

These entries would be -entirely- out of date by now. If he still intends to do this, he needs to ask for new/current submissions.

@FairBoy

Regardless of what was promised online, no one is going anywhere due to Covid-19 and probably won't for some time yet.

The UK is one of the worst-hit regions on the globe for deaths and I doubt any country is willing to take travel from there, and even if that wasn't the case either, no one can blame Steve from saying, "yeah....nah, I don't think so" I would and i'm not even in the UK.

Who knows, maybe Steve got sick with Covid-19. I hope not. I haven't heard from him in a while. There's no use in speculating because this global pandemic is causing a lot of problems in many ways.

Thanks.

@number6
"Entirely", hm. I didn't know you've got insight into Mr. Clusteruk's mails too. Or is there any other possible way to come to your conclusion? But yes, you are right, those interviews should have happened long ago.

@SHADES
Good point, yes, you are right, the interviews were due long before the Corona problem happened to be one. Mr. Clusteruk logged into this site about one month ago. I think we can safely asume that he was alright back then. At that time the whole discussion here had already started and people asked for info on those interviews. Obviously he decided to completely ignore it.

@OlafS25
Doesn't speak in his favor neither.

@SHADES

During the lockdown even companies used conference software to replace travels. And journalists used conference software to have interviews. You do not need to sit face to face to ask questions. If there would be will and interest it would be possible. But this was asked before with the answer (as far as I remember) it is not possible or the same. He needs direct contact. I would have no problem either to travel paid by others ;)

The next question is... what could come out from it

Hyperion is still in the lawsuit so I do not expect more informations than from Cloanto.

MorphOS team has no lawsuit but they are very strict with informations either. But that would potentially make more sense at least as a interview with hyperion at this point of time.

True, however, he also injured his back and had other illness issues. (Check Clonanto interview)

That being said, Jan - June is out.
That's 5 months right there. Most say it will be a lot longer.
Even if they lift travel bans, Steve probably won't want to travel.
I certainly wouldn't just go hop on a plane which are now counted to be %90 of all new corona cases identified in Australia.

You can continue to guess what went wrong to prevent interviews, I'm sure discussions will need to start again once people feel safe to travel in confined spaces for long durations or their new at-home schedules can afford time outside of business needs that also need to be done online now.

Personally, I don't blame him. Is it disappointing? sure. If it was on me and could affect my health or just make it harder on my isolation I'd be saying to people, enjoy your disappointment then. F that. lol

Good. That takes care of the travel and face to face promise. I'd say bollocks to that.
Covid-19 has affected everything including peoples time schedules as they scramble to keep work and money incoming.
So, although I agree with your no need to travel physical argument, you fail to take into account the impact of the pandemic that is out of his hands.
Maybe he does have time, and the other end does not. You can speculate as much as you want however many larger companies have been affected, especially with product launches, much bigger than Steve and his interview.
Expect away. That's on you. He can't provide right now and I think that's fair enough, considering.

I'm sure once the pandemic is over, he will try negotiate a new interview.
Until then, everyone needs to find something else to take up their time and get off the small, home-run business guy. Pretty shitty if you ask me.

That's bad for him but is of exactly zero interest in this context here.

Quote:

So it all was long before this topic here even started. So, what are you trying to say? That he shouldn't have asked for $ and plan such trips in the first place because of his bad health? Maybe. But he did.

Quote:
That being said, Jan - June is out. That's 5 months right there. Most say it will be a lot longer.
Again, not of any interest to this topic. Besides, we already waited for things to happen in 2019.
I could continue like this with almost every single sentence of yours. Tell me if you want me to.

Quote:
You can continue to guess what went wrong to prevent interviews
The only one who is constantly and wildly guessing with every second sentence and every post is you. You won't find a single quote by me where I made such a guess.
I simply demand a statement by Mr. Clusteruk, who seems to be quite alive, is able to login here, can still record videos and ask for $ and who's back problems certainly won't stop him from typing a few clarifying lines here. Did that sink in now?

@NutsAboutAmiga

At least Amiga Inc had some outside of the bubble ideas instead of constant rehashes to feed the tiny club of self-importance. 4.1 at its current state is like the Anywhere vision but remaining in one place..

«constant rehashes to feed the tiny club”
But is this not the nostalgia that people are looking for?

I think we need look backwards and forwards, because if your only looking forwards there is lot people are not going to be interested, if we are only looking backwards we end up with a useless OS.

@Srtest

But as I see it, Intent from Tao virtual machine, was not Amiga inc idea.

Amiga Inc got AmigaOS from gateway, they got "Hagge & Partner" to make OS3.5 and 3.9,

Amiga Inc get Intent and renames it AmigaDE, they sell slow PC’s with Linux installed as development machines to gullible developers.

then "Hagge & Partner" makes AmigaXL, emulation package for PC from Hagge & Partner, Amiga Inc sued "Hagge & partner" terminating the relationship.

Hyperion entertainment ask Amiga Inc if they can make AmigaOS4.0,
they can’t start working on it because Amiga Inc don’t have the source code, so they need to enquire the source code from elsewhere, then the hardware they where suppose to port is not delivered AmigaOne1200, now have way different hardware, Hyperion has recreate many things components in AmigaOS3.9 that they can’t get source code to.

Around 2004, they sue Hyperion for not deriving AmigaOS4.0, at time AmigaOS is under buyback agreement.

Make unrealistic hype around AmigaOS5, that is going to be based on AmigaDE. They lie to community and try to undermined the development of AmigaOS4.

Amiga Inc scam the community with coupon scams.

Amiga Inc goes bankrupt selling office equipment’s, and they form Amiga India, that nothing but empty office, and Amiga Delaware another empty office, they make Snowball maker, and Planet X, then go bankrupt again. KMOS buys Amiga Inc, and they try make more stupid mistakes, and try make money of brand buy licensing it out to Commdore USA, Commdore USA was a new company trying to make monay by selling PC's named Amiga and Commdore, Amiga Inc sue Hyperion again, and sell the brand behind Hyperion back, to Cloanto. Hyperion and Amiga Inc sign a settlement agreement, a few years later Cloanto sues Hyperion.

Friend ClusterUk!

Are you reading us from your secluded tower of ivory, there, there, somewhere in the foggy Britain?
If so, I have a suggestion for you!

You should come back and ask us to compile a list of question for an interview... to yourself!
An interview about your new mini case!

And then you could have kickstarter for this interview, which you can use to fund the interview you originally promised.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul, my friend, robbing Peter to pay Paul, it's what keeps the world going.
CHEERIOS,

MEGA RJ

What makes you think that the interview didn't happen due to a shortage of funds?

I really don't think that Hyperion want to explain themselves to Amiga users! The best way to get a handle on their business plan and what they're planning in the future is to apply for work experience as a legal intern IMHO!

Is that something that appeals to you?

We are waiting for clusteruk to explain himself for quite a long time now. So far he managed to ignore everything related to this thread, despite being pointed to it several times.
That makes me think that MEGA_RJ_MICAL's little statement hits the nail pretty well.
I'd be happy to be proven wrong. But until clusteruk stays silent... well... doesn't speak in his favor at all, doesn't it?

Why do you insist on “Hagge” instead of “Haage”, it’s been going on for years now, is there some joke?
