That news item never existed, because it never got translated from German to English. When translating a newer news item, the translator apparently just changed the link to the older news item to point to the English translation, without checking if it exists.

Fixed by changing the link in the newer news item. Thanks for pointing this out.

@number6

There was a change to one of the reply titles, perhaps the wrong title got changed?

@broadblues: But why change the title after all?

Its still valid that A-EON/Amigakit dropped the official AmigaOne-brand for now.

And sorry to say that (I like Trevor), but the explanation/clarification was a non-clarification.

Well for one reason it's inaccurate, it's make an assumption and then Trevor has stated that they are still amigaones, even if he didn't explain the wiki edits and the AmigaOne name is still used on the first page just not the subchapters.

More accurate title would have been:

"Amiga Org wiki edited to remove AmigaOne name"

Factual, infering no non evience based assumptions.

Less emotive, and less fun perhaps.

I am talking about the tick specifically, not the amiga.org logo, which is just one of the many places the tick has been incorporated over the years.

Yes, I know.

Goodbye Amigaone....and welcome back

Any replies to that post would pick up the new title in their own post, and so forth. Any replies to posts carrying the old title would pick up the old title in their post.

This has not had the intended effect as I read Trevor anyway....

Answer me this:

Why is there a direct link to AmigaoneX5000 (to the amiga.org wiki) on this page, and no direct link to the AmigaoneX1000 wikipedia wiki? Is there an amiga.org wiki for this anyway?

under Hardware

In addition to wikipedia for AmigaoneX1000, it could also link to:
the AmigaOS.net wiki

It might also help in understanding to review what former managing partner Evert Carton, Amigakit, Pavlor, etc.etc. had to say:

Thanks. You've found the missing link.

Generally when I try the language switch it fails. I would have expected "ENGLISH VERSION" to link to an English version of a message, not the root of amiga-news as it does.

The following is a translation. ExecSG is mentioned on bottom. Some other messages follow on from last paragraph here but I see no direct reference to ExecSG in the links that follow.

https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Famiga-news.de%2Fde%2Fnews%2FAN-2019-01-00039-DE.html

@broadblues: I agree, the title is a little bit too emotional and like presenting a fact. I would have used a "?" at least.

But its not only about the Amiga org wiki, the name was also removed from the product description on the Amigakit-website. So its obvious, that they don't use the brand at the moment for whatever reason.

And Trevors explanation wasn´t really helpful. If there wasn't a change at all then why removing the name from the wiki AND the Amigakit website?

Perhaps they are just hedging their bets and not taking sides so that when the lawsuit is over, no sh** can fly towards them from whoever wins it

Well, there's some very old into there, since we now have Trevor's written account of the incident mentioned. The links within that thread go to 2018.

2019 is more up to date

@OldAmigan

for me the explanation to remove a brand name for convenience is not very convincing

I agree. In addition, the model name 'Tabor' is not the greatest, A1222 is confusing (unless you know what CPU it uses) and the AmigaOne trademark was the best bit of branding it had going for it.

The A-EON Tabor A1222 sounds like an electronic fly trap or lady razor. I guess a lady razor is a female / female's friend of sorts

Lots of drama in Amiga land.

I think it was just negotiation tactics, to build up some pressure.

BTW: On the A-EON website the AmigaOne-brand/name disappeared, too...

I also agree. I thought the title was misleading. I expected to read about someone who was leaving the AmigaOne scene. The content didn't make sense. But I used to seeing subject that are too vague or generic and give no clue what it is about. I suppose this is like vaguebait as opposed to clickbait. Putting in a vague title so people want to know what it is about.
