Friend Raffaele,

breaking news: Fascism ended in 1945.
You might want to adopt fresh new ways to express yourself.

Your finest post, I 100% agree.

Sent from the finest leather donkey skinned monhogany Wood and pure gold with platinum accents desk of yours truly.

@MEGA_RJ_MICAL

Again crediting me with the fascism? (and please use no capital letter with the infamous word "fascism")

I believed you were more creative and sarcastic than mimicking comments about me you read from other users in the discussion about migration of Amiga to other computing architectures..

Actually I am expressing my toughts not forcing others to goose stepping and hailing Amiga with a cosh as it was usual habit of fascists...

@Fl@sh

the only reason why he did it was because people asked for it and donated

Hyperion never officially recognized it despite of course selling a lot more "classic" versions because of it

If somebody knows different I am OK with being corrected of course. I can remember that there was a technical limit that only made sense on the real old hardware but removing would have helped a lot in emulation and could be easily done by Hyperion but was not.

from thread:
"I wonder why the Hyperion Entertainment is not helping yet - they must have noticed increased OS4 sales after you and Frode made it possible to run this system on UAE..."

answer from Toni:
Exactly. I assume reasons are politics only.. (But lets not discuss that here..)

@Raffaele

calling other people "donkeys" is not really nice

the problem with many "donkeys" is that they know what is possible and what is not possible

we have four camps now, 68k (using old and new 68k based hardware or emulation), AmigaOS, AROS, MorphOS

all platforms are different already and use different components

For example RTG every platform uses different implementations, the same for USB and so on

So all NG platforms (developers) have to agree on one standard in many cases giving up the own implementation.

Theoretically they would only do that for making more money than staying on its own. I do not see them agreeing on that. Also all camps would need to agree on one direction. I do not see that either. All have different ideas.

Making a "join forces" thread every year might be fun but does not change anything

@OlafS25

Different implementations should not be a problem, as long as they stick to agreed upon interfaces. The problem is that way too many amiga dev... coders... happily bypass interfaces, implement subsets or partly overlapping interfaces if that can speed up their software or further their agenda.

And number one reason as to why PowerPC support was added to WinUAE and FS-UAE is that it turned out to be much easier to implement than anticipated, due to Qemu already having done most of the work.

@OlafS25

heh, I get your sarcasm here. We spent ages bragging about how clever the AutoDocs were. We have formal specifications of the APIs and yet, we have subtle inconsistencies in all implementations. So true

Oh friend Plexus,
I shiver, yes shiver, whenever I am witness to my own image on video.

I'll thus refrain from any comment, and limit myself to say:

I totally agree! The Amiga platform would be much more successful and taken seriously if it happened.

Having the source code does nothing. Use Aros if you want source code.
