Was a good start wasn't it? Shame there was no mass market for a productivity machine (i.e. not business computer) at the time and no marketing support to grow that market other than the sepia adverts and weird baby at the top of a futuristic mountain dwelling video advert!! Poor marketing but amazing machine!

Wow I am 40 next month, so I am only 5 year's older than the Amiga. I am not sure which has aged the best!

The A1000 was too expensive for our family. We started with the A500. Our son dominated its use after abandoning the Apple II for the color (and the workstations for the IBM at work when I provided child care).

The A1200 was when all 3 of us had things we wanted to do with the computer.
The original Lemmings is the only computer game that ever got me interested enough to finish the thing. Was THE computer until kid was out on his own and my wife got an iMac. I bought an AmigaOne, but was out of the state/country so much for work it never got as much love as the A1200 (though the speed of the AmigaOne meant I wasn't going *back* either).

New game controller arrived just in time to enjoy classic Amiga platformers on my WinUAE box. Nice present for both me and my "Amiga". I´m exactly one year older than Amiga, that one and only real one.

What other games / programs work better on a NTSC Amiga besides Marble Madness? Most games were optimised for PAL Amigas from what I can gather.

I'm not sure about games. I've always thought Workbench would look better in PAL, with the extra vertical resolution. Workbench in NTSC is ropey, with only 200 lines.
