bjonte has just released the teaser trailer for the upcoming Commodore 128 game, Volley For Two! See

https://kollektivet.nu/v42/

It has been years since the last C128 game has been released commercially, and it looks as if this one will be distributed on https://itch.io

And it makes use of REU, GeoRAM, or SuperCPU ram for extended playback viewing! :)

The developer now tells me it's going to be free! He couldn't stand filling out the forms for the US Internal Revenue Service!

That's that other developer's excuse, you know, Donald J. Trump.

@RobertB

It has dual monitor support (and Amiga doesn't yet)?! I never knew you could use two monitors on the C128.

Yes, with the right programming, you can use the 40-column (composite/s-video) and the 80-column (RGB-digital) modes at the same time. There was another program or two that made use of this capability, but I can't remember which ones at the moment.

Who knew the 128 was the first dual-screen machine?

For graphics, you can turn "FAST" mode on when the border is being drawn and back to "SLOW" mode on the actual bitmap....this nets you about 20% performance improvement in processing power over 1Mhz mode since the VIC-II chip can't display anything in 2Mhz mode.

The Elite 128 (which runs in 64 mode) takes advantage of this....

Not sure which was the first, but at least the IBM PC could run a MDA+CGA(/EGA/VGA) dual screen setup, and it predates the C128 by a few years.
