| While waiting for my X5000 funding :D I am trying to install OS 4.1 sing AmigaForever. I got this profess to work once, a little over a week ago. Then I made a silly change to the Cyberstorm PPC device and was presented with the friendly Workbench disk screen on reboot. Every subsequent installation attempt has resulted in a "Not a DOS disk in device DH0:" requester every single time after nstallation.
What am I missing?
Should I just do a simple install, without adding a larger disk (rather than the internal 750mb) beforehand? I even wiped my system (I was planning on doing this anyway for speed reasons) nd starting fresh.
Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks, Stan |

Sounds like you did something wrong when creating your systempartition. On my os4.1 setup i use smartfilesystem as filesystem and on a classic machine you need to add the filesystem to the The Rigid Disk Block (RDB), did you do that?

If you were to wait for the funding, why not quit waiting (let us say) and attain interest in
- Tabor aka A1222 - Sam460cr?
They're more that 2x cheaper each! _________________ Amiga 1200 + WARP 1260 + AmigaOS 3.2 |

What did you do?
Was this inside of the emulation?
With OS4.1 there should be a boot floppy image. It used to come with a floppy. Should be on the CD also but I'm not sure of that. So you could get to MediaToolbox. Anything in early startup? |

I've had a Sam460ex board, but it is woefully...no, painfully slow at 800MHz. I lost that system somewhere in a move.
The 1222 looks promising. Is it upgradable? I only see one SDRAM slot. |

Ill bexabke to give you a detailed answer later, but I've tried getting into media toolbox and setting up a, Workbench, Work and Data partition, ensuring WB was bootable. Everything installed but still no boot afterwards.
I'll re do the whole process and jot down each step after work tonight.. |
