Lovely!

Wasn't Steven going to supply AEON with hundreds of Checkmate cases for Tabor? Went thru all the trouble to ensure the Tabor M/B would fit properly and such? Is Steven still doing business with AEON and AmigaKit?

Personally, I wouldn't spend the $$$ to run AmiKit but it would be cool to transplant all the innards of one of my i7 quad core Mac Mini's into a Checkmate case.

@QBit

What do you mean? You've just linked to his general YouTube profile!? Yes, he found a way to manufacture case and monitors! What's new?

There was never anything official but I have a gentlemens agreement with Amigakit to supply A1222 with the Checkmate cases. I have 9 black cases set aside with the slot loading CD drives, front I/O ports and PCIe risers for full size video cards. Early adopters get priority but if there are any left or A1222 doesn't ship I'll open it up to others. I'm not desperate for money so I can sit on them for however long.

Five are already reserved if those who expressed interest, if they don't change their mind.

@Rob

Good to know!

Guess I'll have to watch for a Tabor launch... AGAIN.

I saved this thread.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, can I just get on the list now?
If it's alright with you, I can send my request in a PM.

@Amiga4000

Theyre terrible cases for anything other than low performance, low power consumption machines.
Zero consideration to thermals results in significant performance loss due to thermal throttling/downclocking.
Single worst case I've ever used.

@fishy_fis

I would like to transplant a Mac Mini* Quad Core i7.

*Kind of negates the whole point of a Mac Mini though.

I'd buy one just for the "art" effect!

Phrase of the day! "thermal throttling"

@fishy_fis

Your comments are overly harsh IMHO! Is the aim to punch every remaining Amiga player in the nuts?

The Prime Minister just read from Phillipians 4:4-9

Quote:
4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

I suggest we meditate on that today to find peace in these troubled times rather than sniping at each other and bringing each other down. The Queen after all has 70 years of work experience involving uniting disperate nations and working for the common good as Jesus would have done! Happy jubilee and God bless Queen Lizzie!

@BigD

I think I remember seeing a site where they were building Amiga kits with Checkmate cases and old A1200 boards.

I was trying to google it up but found nothing.

Or maybe I remember wrong.

@Nonefornow

Well, we have new 1200 cases, new 1200 keys, the amiga mini mouse, we just miss the keyboard membranes and setups else that would be feasible inserting a raspberry pi into it

Bit of a silly complaint when really the main focus and main systems he was advertising where all low power, low heat machines.
