Sonic Triple Trouble (a 90s 8-bit SEGA Game Gear game) has been remade with 16-bit graphics and released for free by independent coders! Why can't Sonic Team do this?

https://www.indieretronews.com/2022/08/sonic-triple-trouble-16-bit-has-been.html

Yes, it's for Windows but there's been no news about Reshoot Proxima 3 or Metro Siege for a while and this game is free and great!!!

@BigD

It looks like an Amiga version has already been coded for the AAA chipset.

Enjoy!

@DiscreetFX

Gad to see that Sonic 1 works on Vampires! What speeds would you get from a standard 060? Does it need the MMX instructions specific to the Vampire?

@BigD

Yup, looks like it does use AMMX and SAGA.

@Hammer

Yeah, I think everyone knows how to get hold of them. I prefer the Sonic Mega Collection on the PS2 myself. The reason I'm excited about Triple Trouble is that it was never released for the Mega Drive only 8-bit Game Gear/Master System consoles! The team remade these games with 16-bit assets! Awesome!

@BigD

At least SEGA seem to be a bit more tolerant of fan made project compared to a lot of other companies / ips. I do get it that they got to protect their ips, but project like this are so cool and created with such love and something the ip holder are never likely to do what the harm in allowing it as long as no profit is made.

@amigang

Where's Reshoot Proxima III?

"To be this good will require Amigos to keeping banging their Amigas!"

Sounds a bit blue! But it's all meant in fun
