I would say it's possible, but how probable, I can't say. Consider there's likely a bell curve of mental wellness here and that the mean of that curve consists of slightly unusual people that are passionate enough about a piece of technology to stick with it decades after it ceased to be relevant. Somewhere out on the tail end of that distribution there are people that are immeasurably more extreme in their passion. Bitter and resentful, never having come to terms with the fact the world left them and their wishes behind. And not the odd fruitcake that posts while off their meds. Real loners, too socially awkward to even sign up, but seething behind a screen somewhere and unable to take any criticism of things and ideas they hold sacred.
