What about controller configuration? Most platform games will using up to jump will be unsuited to a joypad plus some games will use keys for additional functions such space key for smart bomb etc. |

With games there is a second virtual keyboard with full layout of keys including special keys.
We will look into giving user the option to map a second fire button as a jump button.

Really? Backdrop and icons are all it takes to impress you? :)
I’m curious how “the ARexx problem” is dealt with, especially in light of how dependent PPaint is on ARexx. Also, what version of OctaMED? 4, 5, Sound Studio? With all the GPL software involved, is Amiga Kit prepared to release source code to customers who ask for it? And it’s an “IoT device”, as exploits become apparent, are they prepared to deal with it properly? _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

We are prepared to comply with any licencing obligations we are bound to.
There of course is a lot of closed source commercial software installed on the A600GS such as the Commands V46, AK-Datatypes V46, Amibench V46, PPaint, OctaMED and the custom front end interface. The bundled icons, backdrops and music are all commercial too.

Amisphere server has been successfully used to provide updates to X5000, X1000 etc for some time. It is also used to serve updates to the A600GS. This will continue.

I like the sound of this. will it also have a game/software store front end?
It would be nice if there was an easy to access Steam like game delivery service for the Amiga platform for all the new games getting released on itch. |

Me saying "Nice!" is my way of thanking @amigakit for sharing progress. Plus, the desktop does actually look, nice.
If I were "impressed" then you'd see me exclaim words such as "Wow" or "Amazing".

It is not available at launch but there plan is to support the AmiStore for this. It's the main USP to be honest._________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

Basically I feel that amigakit looked at the a500mini thought they could do better and are making the a600gs |
But, just recently, there was an annoucement of the A500 Maxi going ahead. Or whatever they are calling it. And there is the X500 keyboard. So the market will be crowded.
Every one thinks they can do better than an A500 Mini. Even with a dumb keyboard no one can do better with a neat case. An RPi put into a common case is not the same as an A500 keyboard replica. But, the Maxi may a chance for prototyping a real Amiga USB keyboard, with realistic pricing. However, I can see the Retro company spending more time perfecting the emulation. Still, they should consider THEKEYBOARD as a standlone item just like the joypad. |

Correct me if i am wrong. So you are telling me that the A600GS software/games will have to be bought from the online store?? If so thats a big Fk no!!!. I'd be busting out my A500 and floppies before i pay for games that i played 30 years ago for free. And by saying for free, dont tell me you never bought a used A500 that came with a few hundred copied games.
Also, a lot of people are busting to see a full size version of the A500mini with working keyboard. If that gets announced, this thing is gonna be dead before it hits production.

No, you can install your own software from ADF etc. as well it's not some locked in system.

The online store is an outlet for new commercial games. |

It's a cool bonus rather than the only way to get software on it. It will be cool to see it working! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

| The A600GS will present a lot of the Enhancer Software components only released to date on OS4/PPC. It will also use Amistore which will give the opportunity of new game development offering a revenue stream for Classic Amiga games developers.
Games and Apps can be loaded by USB or other means. _________________ Amiga Kit Amiga Store Links: www.amigakit.com | New Products | A600GS |

Maybe you should rethink the case design.
1. The retro market is crazy about cases. 2. Amiga Fans too, even if they should know better.
