Cool! Do you know how much easier things have just become to port with this!

..of course you do! Make sure this gets included in every OS4 SDK from now on! That threads.library should possibly even make it to a standard OS4 installation.

Cheers,
Bean.

@olegil

The mailing list has "Reply-To:" set TO THE LIST. I know SOME people consider this BROKEN, but since I generally have less hassle with stupid users when Reply-To goes to list than when it goes to the sender. When/if enough people request a change, we shall see about it

Archives are open to the public, so don't do anything stupid. This can also be changed if we find out we need to sign an NDA at some point. I doubt we will, though

@olegil

I'm gonna be using SVN anyway, so I have set it up here:
http://84.234.219.218/repos/

If we want, this can be used for the project. It's on my private 4Mbit fiber. The mailing list is on the 100Mbit server...

@olegil

Is either SVN or CVS useable in AmigaOS 4.0 right now? As in, are there available clients for any of them?

As a developer I could imagine the eventual OO devs not wanting to use a win/linux machine just to fetch/reserve/update code.

CVS does work on OS4.
But I don't know if there is an AmigaOS4 version

Like I said, _my_ first priority would be to port SVN. Working with CVS is SOOOO abhorring

If we want to use CVS instead, someone else will have to set up the server. I don't use CVS elsewhere, and I don't want excess clutter on my media box.

I will be moving the media system over to the A1 at some point, and I'll be setting up another machine for Windows as well, and from that point, my current media box will be left alone to serve as WEB/SVN/SQL server/NAT/firewall. It's a dual 342MHz P2, so nothing to brag about

But it's got a SIL0680 and an ok disk... (system drive is damn slow, but the data disk is a brand new 40G)

Okey, I have a contact that is willing to set up a CVS server should the OO people want that.

So the project stands at:

SVN
+ we have server access.
+ slightly better VS tool.
- 'somone' has to port a client to amigaos.

CVS
+ we have server access.
+ we have a client.
- not as good VS tool.

Which would people prefer? Anyone willing to port a SVN tool?

@Orgin

SVN would indeed be nice, however, CVS comes standard with the SDK iirc, starting in CVS & then switching to SVN would also be possible, but might delay the progress quite abit...

One thing to keep in mind is the sheer size of this thing aswell, the 1.9 codebase exceeds 1GB, so we really should think this one out before commiting to eighter.

Is anyone familiar with the SVN sourcecode? It's requirements?
