It may sound a strange question, but how long is the cable?

Hm, a little worried about AmigaKit using the check-mark more and more lately - I certainly hope this is not some attempt at establishing presence to build up to a trademark claim. The checkmark is the only Amiga symbol that has been free (as in libre) to use for anyone in the community without fear of legal consequences since 1994.

Well, as regards the following image from Amiga.org:

I wonder who owns the superb logo of amiga.org?

We do now

And was one of the reason for our interest in Amiga,org, It has original Commodore approval and predates everyone else.

Whether using the checkmark by itself is a stretch, I would not know.

love mine which I bought when they first came out for my A4000...super smooth, cool led at sides that lights up when in use and most importantly I’ve always loved the Amiga check mark since seeing it for the first time back in &4/85

Yeah, the amiga.org logo is one thing, but the checkmark alone is something else. Also, the Amiga.org logo, from what I recall, was donated to amiga.org as a community, only to be used in that context...

And CBM endorsed? Yeah right, the site was running for years without that logo, it came around year 2000 or so.

EDIT: Right, thanks wayback machine...

And here it is, maybe first time?
https://web.archive.org/web/20000815053504/http://www.amiga.org:80/

Used as site logo, in 2001...

EDIT 2 - turns out it was actually used before that...

I'm tempted, but the DPI of 400 doesn't seem that impressive. I used to have a Wizard Developments mouse with 560DPI and that was 20 years ago, it was the traditional trackball style mouse though.

Anyone have any knowledge on whether this is comparing apples to apples? Does an optical mouse of 400DPI far exceed a traditional mouse with ball of 560DPi?

I'm afraid I'm uninformed on this subject so any advice would be welcome.

Thanks,
Rude!

Sorry for going off-topic, but does anyone have a checkmark image I could use in my program? I'd like to get some Amiga related gfx to be distributed inside certain program of mine... I have a boing ball logo in my beta version, but haven't been sure about the copyright situation. It probably can't be used even if it's been rendered by someone whose permission I can get?

@jPV

BoingBall is obviously part of the current court documents.

Whereas some people claim the rights to use it and/or license it, you might want to consider being a bit cautious on that.

@jPV

There is a vector logo (SVG) on Wikipedia you can use as basis, just need to remove the "Amiga" text and you are left with the rainbow checkmark.

@Rudei

If you have an original Amiga mouse and money to burn you can always go for the laser upgrade which will give you 8500DPI.
