News   News : Amiga Future 81 printed and posted
posted by AndreasM on 5-Nov-2009 11:00:40 (4523 reads)
Amiga Future issue 81 (November/December 2009) is out now.

This means that all subscriptions, pre-orders and dealer supplies have all been sent off today.

In issue 81 you will find reviews of xMame, CMed, ScummVM and much more. Also, there are interviews with Edgar Schwan and Carsten Siegner.

As well as many FULL versions and PD software we have the FULL versions of Directory Opus 5.5 (CD and disk versions), DirectoryOpus PlusCD, Beambender and others on the cover CD.

A more detailed description of content and excerpts can be found at: http://www.amigafuture.de/kb.php?mode=article&k=3374

The Amiga Future is available as an English or German print magazine directly from the editorial office and also several Amiga dealers like APC&TCP, Alinea, AmigaKit, ASB, GGS Data, Hast, Voxel, Samuli and Vesalia. Of course we are still on the lookout for suitable dealers interested in stocking the Amiga Future magazine.

The Amiga Future magazine is available as either a single issue or by subscription with or without a cover CD.

Amiga Future needs YOU ...

We still need more translators for the magazine team. To be considered your native language should be either English or German. Of course you should also be able to read and write both languages.

If you are interested in being part of the Amiga Future team then please contact us via email to: Andreas@amigafuture.de .

As far as i can understand, only cover parts are in color ? The magazine itself black/white only ? If so, why not make it in color ? any real reassons for ?

@PR

Hm.. no sure that in present times, making color pages on color printer will cost much more than for example making the same in black-white. Imho the main problem - time ? But when i see that example pages , i just think that in color, it will be looks _very_ nice. And i will subscribe to that. Black and white looks a bit bad.

I mean design are nice, quality for magazine are nice, but that black-color pages ..

ps. But, i first time heard about "F1 Spirit" game (read on example pages of 81 issue). Downloaded and tested it some mins ago - really nice game. Looks pretty professional.

The Mag printet in Offset. 4 Color Offset cost more money as b/w.
For Color pages we need many, many more subscribers.
But i dont think that we get any time enough subscribers for this.

Thats what I thought and knew. Even in this beautiful "fullhitech" country colours cost more than just black in copying. We used to make some broachures 1 euro/ page in full colour (in a copying shop) printed by Amiga offcourse but got it to around 1stn/print with our own laser copying machine with refills and thin paper.. Go to China I know, there is even more cheaper.. But when there are only hundreds instead of thousands (in here anyway, no comment in else) it is not cheap to go to a bigger "press" or how would I say it.

If things would not change, then ok.

Edit: Magazines are pricier to print they hopefully change in content!

I do some colour prints with a laser but not for everyday use with an HPColorLaserJet2600N. Got it for years and still does not run out of colour! Recommended as usually they put a drop on other printers just so You can go and buy new colour. (Well this cost a lot at those times, any ideas how to get it to the Amiga?)

Enough for my rant. Subscribe and well get all in full colour and a hundreds of pages and other rival magazines when my most ambitious project gets revealed after I sweep our roof.

(You can see that I've got the time as the Corvette site is closed for the moment in Finland;)

I got it immediately after it was popped through the mail slot. Probably took about 15 minutes before I posted here though. In any case it was very fast delivery .

Minun lehteni oli sängyllä odottamassa kuin tulin kotia
=
My paper was on the bed waiting for me when I got home

EDIT: While I am at it, I can just as well tell in Swedish as well:

Min blaska låg på sängen och väntade på mig när jag kom hem

Ei lehteä vielä... jospa myöhemmin tänään.
Vai saittex te muut suoraan saksanmaalta?
Mulle tulee suomen "hubin" kautta.
Vaan eipä haitannu kamalasti viikonloppuna, kun oli SAKU pikkujoulut.

No magazine yet ... perhaps later today.
Did not miss it too much during the weekend, because of the christmasparty of Finnish Amiga Users.
http://saku.amigafin.org/yhdistys/tapahtumat/pikkujoulut2009/valokuvia.html

(yes, the rough looking SAM setup is mine, it seems that SAKU events are my only changes to find time to play with the thing, I hope the situation changes soon)

And thanks go also to MOS team for the christmas present: http://saku.amigafin.org/yhdistys/tapahtumat/pikkujoulut2009/kuvat/pj09_13.jpg

(I'll backup my macmini one of these days and install MOS)
