When will the proper mainstream A1222 Plus batch be available? How long is life? When will Jesus return? Will Covid-19 mutate to point where the vaccines won’t work?

I’d say if you want to jump into the AmigaOS with a few great games included you might as well buy a Sam while we’re all still young!

It's funny. I sold my SAM 460 lite six years ago thinking I would get a new OS4.x machine within a year. I wanted something that could play videos off of the internet. The SAM lite could not handle video. The X3500 never went into production. The A1222 never showed up. The X5000 was way out of my price range. I may just get another SAM to put in my empty Checkmate A1500+. With the new video drivers using the GPU for video, the SAM 460CR should fly pretty fast.
In all of this time that I have been waiting for a new and improved OS 4.x machine, so many options for AROS and AmigaOS 3.x have been brought to market. I've held out for an OS 4.x machine due to the amount of software I've bought for it. With the last A1222 delay mentioned, I almost jumped ship. A SAM 460CR could keep me in the OS4.x community. Yet, if I get a SAM 460CR, I won't get an A1222. This hardware decision by ACube will hurt A-Eon sales. Of course, A-Eon's multiple delays and CPU choice may have already killed the A1222 market.

Twenty to thirty pounds for both the SATA and sound card depending on where you source them.

This is great news. I am going to get one of these and I am in the early Tabor batch as well. I want them all! I love my AmigaOne 500 and looking forward to another Sam board. Acube, make a good amount of these, I think they will sell out quickly.

It seems to me that A-Eon is doing its best to hurt their sales all by themselves, to be honest... and that shouldn't hold others from selling and buying hardware as they feel.

Yes, you can dual-boot AmigaOS 4.1 and MorphOS on a Sam460.

Nice to see ACube back with a run of Sam boards. I think the CR version makes more sense, I sold my full 460 a couple of years back but never really used the built in graphics or sound.

So, now what?
