What's really paradoxal is that there's still so much bitterness around now that things are really moving forwards within the community, after some ten-what years of hibernation. MOS1.5 is just around the corner, as is a "release" of OS4. Both appearing to be quite tasty, whatever choice is your preferred flavour. And people are having a go at each other as if everyone's insulted everyone elses mothers...
Oh, okay, what was that I hear, OS4 won't have USB-support in the pre-release? And the currently available version of MOS doesn't have a native TCP-stack? Some users aren't too impressed with Ambient as a desktop, and drivers with proper DMA-support have yet to be released to us A1-owners?
Ehm, guess what, you sad f**ks, WinXP has the lots, feature-wise, and then some. Just take that route and leave the rest of us alone to have some fun with our system of choice. And don't give me the "Windoze ain't fun", cause mindless ranting can't be too much of a blast either, really.
Neither AOS nor MOS is quite ready for public consumer relase yet, both are wanting in more ways then one. I'm sure the owners of each system knows full well what has yet to be done on their side of the fence, no point in reminding us umpteen times a day, 'cause we've all heard it a gazillion times already, as well as experienced it for ourselves. And right now, we're all eagerly anticipating the next stage in development, where our systems come just one little bit closer to the mainstream competition.
The irony of it all, is that in that respect, the bona fide trolls are the ones that come closest to the truth, beatchin' about both systems, probably having gone the windoze ways years ago without looking back. Which makes it all the more sad that they're still around to beatch about everyone and everything.
I mean, it's not like we all need to be enlightened, I'm sure we were all pretty aware of what we were getting ourselves into when we bought our systems, and that we all had our reasons for doing so, regardless.
It's all just plain silly.
