   posted by AndreasM on 8-Jan-2010 11:34:08 (6005 reads)
The Amiga Future issue 82 (January/February 2010) has been released today.

In issue 82 you'll find reviews of AmigaOS 4 Update 1, Maniac Mansion - Day for the Tentacle, Space Shooter, Bordo, SimuTrans, The Mana World and much more. Furthermore there are interviews with Markus Weiß and Carlos Peris.

Besides lots of full versions and PD software we have the full versions of Scavenger 1, Scavenger 2, Maddog, Quasar Wars, Jelly o Chelly, Shroom, Gammon, Sneech, Piles o Tiles, Peg it Classic, 6th Sense, Samplitude, unreleased bonus material of Bernhard Aichinger and much more on the cover CD.

A more detailed description of content and some excerpts can be found at: http://www.amigafuture.de/kb.php?mode=article&k=3377

The Amiga Future is available as an English and German print magazine directly at the editorial office and some Amiga dealers like APC&TCP, Alinea, AmigaKit, ASB, GGS Data, Hast, Voxel, Samuli and Vesalia.
Of course we look for more dealers interested in adding the Amiga Future to their range of products.

If there are some Amiga dealers interested in offering the Amiga Future to their customers out there then please write us an email.

The Amiga Future is available as a single issue and subscription each with or without the cover CD.

I work in the media industry and what you guys are asking of Andreas it really a lot. It is hard to go into details without knowning more about the normal printing costs, but I would not be surprised if the cost of printing Amiga Future in colour would be three or four times higher than the b&w edition.

Basically it's impossible to have Amiga Future in colour without increasing the price quite a lot... OR getting (problably) a couple of thousands more readers OR getting more advertisers... And the last two is pretty much connected...

I used to do some graphic work for ads in the 80th and 90th,and Full color is expensive,belive me. We should be happy there is a amiga specific magazine at all,so get used to b/w.

No, we should't. We should try to make everything good as possible - that we should. But be happy by something, which can be much better - that is not good way.

Anyway, it's all up to AndreasM :)

Is the AmigaOS 4.1 Update 1 article about the forthcoming AmigaOS 4.1.1 ?

It's about the forthcoming AmigaOS 4.1 update 1. There is no "AmigaOS 4.1.1".

I simply don't think it possible at the moment. Printing in full-colour would probably mean that Andreas would have to charge 15-20 euro per issue - without CD - and I really think that would cost him readers...

Andreas have no interest in losing money on Amiga Future and if the finances are good now - well, then it's a huge gamble to increase the expenses for each printed issue by 100 or 200%...

If we start seeing a more healthy marked with more readers and more advertising it might be possible to begin have some more colour pages in there. It's 52 pages now - two in colour... Well, in time it could be 52 pages - eight in colour...

We will get there - but it will take time.

The delivery is speedy, however! My copy got here today!

It's up to subscribers if you want to see AmigaFuture in full color. More subscribers will be neat in the future. It's really sad that a lot of people that I know, they don't want to subscribe for some reasons.

The magazine's layout is very good. Ok, it's B/W, but that's not really a big problem. At least we must be happy that we have a printed Amiga magazine to read, don't you think?

@topic

Please be serious. The most important thing about Amiga Future is what's written inside, not the number of colours in shots. Colour printing is much much more expensive than B/W, so please don't ask for something economically impossible.

@paolone

Different ppls, different opinions. I like when "written inside" designed well. Only good article, or only good design not so interesting. But when it mixed together - then we have good stuff in end.

And as i say, i will pay with no problems for the full color AF, let's be price higher at 5-10times as it now.

I think, AndreasM need to create a poll, where he will just write "Will you buy full-colored AF, if it will cost __xx_price__ , or BW are enough". Then we will all see the result, and based on it make any opinions.

That is serous. But not be happy by good writing , but BW magazine.
