Internet News   Internet News : Do you like music mods?
posted by jahc on 7-Dec-2003 4:44:45 (1993 reads)
Do you like music mods? This isnt a new site, but a lot of people probably havent heard of it. The mod group [mono] have released the best mods I've ever heard. Read more for a link to their FTP site.

ftp://mirror.support.nl/pub/mono

The "99" directory in particular is awesome.

I really love amiga mods, in fact i´m burning a CD with the all time greatest mods ever made in various formats for my friends and of course my own pleasure
This CD now has more than 2000 properly xpked mod, s3m, xm, mm, dbm, SS and other formats. All collected surfing the web in the last 6 months and other from my amiga friends in Coruña (Spain). Sorry win users but I think your crappy os can´t read my xpked CD
Next step will be the mp3 collection of amiga greatests.
Too many good groups, too many incredible musicians, ufff too much work, but I think it really deserves the effort.

I've been listening to Mono for years. Some of their 4 channel mods sound better than 20 channel .xm's or .s3m's I've heard.

2000 mods? Thats nothing The Amiga Music Preservation collection currently fills 25 CDs, containing over 80,000 mods from 9,921 composers!

(that 80k is from the news page. There are only 55,266 entries in the online database at the moment).
