Events   Events : Report of the Bath OS4 Roadshow
posted by Ryu on 15-Dec-2003 1:30:41 (4601 reads)
Finally, my reports online, take a butchers at www.ryus-reports.webhop.net for the full review and pictures.

Took longer than anticipated because the html is all hand written, wasnt satisfied with the freeware photoalbum generators on the amiga.

Mike Bouma and his Camera Man (who I got a rather dashing photo of). He still scares me, and I got the distinct impression he was ignoring me?

LOL, I wasn't. Where did you hide this time?

I had some nice chats with people like Mikey_C, Mick, Matthew, Paul and various others I hadn't met in person before.

@ Ryu

I must have overlooked you then or I simply did not recognize you, else I would have said hello. I was pretty tired during the event as we left early to see more of Bath.

I was probably the tallest guy present, so at least it would have been hard for you to overlook me. Too bad I scared you so much though.

Yeah, nice clear photos,

Is Sven performing some sort of magic trick in this photo, I can imagine the caption "Sven Harvey makes AmigaOne Levitate"

Excellet, so far I've managed to not be in a single photo!

Nice report by the way

Oh and the guy on the right in the picture titled "Random People" is Gemini. He was wearing a t-shirt with Gemini printed on it, but he never took off the top shirt, so no one knew - fool!

Rob

It would seem like it's some kind of licensable reference design more then some kind of a new nanoITX board.

It's probably a nanoITX board, they'll call it a pico just to follow in the current tradition of confusing us.

From Ryu`s report.....

Continuing along the row of tables next came the Total Amiga and SEAL group, with yes, yet another AmigaONE, this time running Quake2, and looking very nice! Having beta tested Quake2 on my Amiga I can tell you it was running a heck of a lot faster on the AmigaONE, and the OS isn't completely finished yet, it will rock when it is! Next to the SEAL stand there was a beard?. No sorry, I mean yet another AmigaONE with a nice bearded man stood behind, who greeted me (sorry I didn't catch who you were).

Next to all that was heaven, in the form of a bar? where I later replenished myself with a nice pint of Guinness,

Er just after the bearded gentleman and before the bar was the Amiga North Thames table, which also had an AmigaOne G4 and AOS4 running on it.

What`s the matter? Don`t like us?

I did, but trying to listen to it was, um....well. Alan's voice went from completely undestandable to mumble so much that I couldn't make out too much of what he was saying.

When I turned it up, the coughs and rattlings from the crowd nearly rattled me out of my seat. I finally just gave up, as even with it turned up loud, alot of what he was saying was too muffled.

If you see a geek wearing a t-shirt with a cartoon Mr. T on it, then that's me

Oh yeah, and I have a nasty suspicion that I spent the entire weekend wearing my work pass, clipped to my belt.

@Herewegoagain

It would seem that I'm one of the few that's mad enough to have the energy to listen to it.

But try and listen to the ten minutes in the intervall 5 min -15 min and you should be able to catch most of the interesting hardware stuff.

Well, What was needed was a shotgun Mic.

and ( in my Jimmy Saville voice) As it happens .. I have one here !!

Perhaps we should setup some kind of tech share forum for these type of events.

A1Prod .. Anyway to lay a filter on those coughs etc and then boost Fleecy ?
