Before everyone gets all excited, even if the fine is in the billions of US dollars, Microsoft likely has this sitting in the bank.

It probably won't make much of a ding in their bottom line. Besides, they'll probably appeal this until the cows come home.

Yeah but you can bet your bottom dollar it will hurt

Goes to show, Microsoft, haven't funded anyone's Election Campaign in the EU

I don't think this is quite the beginning of the end for M$, I'm just glad the EU are taking a strong stance against an "abusive monopolist".

Perhaps the court could offer Microsoft the option to do some Community Service instead of a fine... ie have their programmers taught how to write programs without gaping holes in them

How much is the total cost of ownership for Windows? Ouch!

This only refects something that everybody in the world knew.

The EU have the most advanced laws against monopoly situations. I don´t think this will beat Microsoft position in Europe NOW but in the future there WILL be more chances for other products and OS to succes, maybe AmigaOS have a good chance in that future, at least I hope so.

Anyway, Microsoft have to understand that EU laws are very different in comparison with USA laws, they have received a big punch in the face.

If they wanted competition for MS, they really should hand a couple of those billions into AmigaOS development. How sweet wouldn´t that be...
