The aim of the site is to provide a central location where anyone can go to find out anything about either the AmigaOne or OS4, over the coming weeks I hope you the visitor will provide me with information so I can make the site the best site I possibly can. The site is here to serve all you guys who have stuck around to support the future.

Now is the time, so lets make it happen people!

Hat's off to you Ryu, that's a very nice site. It brings together alot of information in one package and manages to do so in a nice professional style. Good work.

BTW, the name is perfect!

I noticed a spelling error on the introduction page though. I think it should be "Jay Miner" and not "Jay Minor"

Also, there is no "e" in "truly." If we may offer a quick tip for the future, Ryu, you may wish to run everything through a spell checker before it goes to the front page. Of course, this early on, mistakes are only to be expected. All in all, it is an effort well done, sir!

well if you could be more specific in where the spelling error is I will correct it.

I did run prety much everything through a spell checking and its been proof read but it would seem things have still slipped through the net....

Though I think the "available software" section can use a little bit of improvement... It's missing a search feature, there's no method of listing all titles and it would be nice if you could view by category instead of starting letter (someone new to amiga wouldn't have any clue that dopus is a file organizer).

Hi I'm one of the IntuitionBase team and the one most responsible for this version of the ossoftware page. I'm looking at (while discussing with Ryu) the best way to add a search facility, I've just added [All] to the selections so you can now pick A-Z, # or All.

We have lots of features planned and are reading through all the suggestions posted on forums and through the feedback features of the site.

The website is coded from scratch and for the moment we are recovering from the rush towards the launch date

i would like to know what printer support AOS 4 has. Its not even listed in the features!

* Is it based on the old 3.x printer.device system?

* Is it based on Linux CUPS printer system?

* Will it rely on third party drivers? e.g. Turboprint?

afaik nothing has been changed in the printer system of os4 compared to os3.9. for proper printing you still need turboprint.
new stuff is announced for os4.1 or 4.2
but feel free to prove me wrong.

byebye...

That's just stupid.

Great work Ryu! I especially loved your round up of the Micro A1. Slick looking website.

As it stands, I believe that Hyperion are in negotiations to license TurboPrint, so for OS 4.0 it'll either be TurboPrint or 3.x printer.device

For future revisions, one of the Friedens expressed an interest in using CUPS, but it was only and idea, not anything official.

Hey, you could have given me a bit of warning so I could have redirected my software compatibility URL to the new site's database (as we are running duplicates)! It'll have to wait now. I notice you have no compatibility setting for "none", which could be useful.

Other than that, nice content, nice design, nice layout. Well done!

Chris

Arent the 2 databases incompatible?

And I did keep posting updates, and you had the url to look yourself

I did think about the "not working" option, but in the end i took it for granted if its not listed its assumed not working / not tested. But as I say software section is still being worked on and improved, as is the hardware database.

@Ryu

Eh? Yes, of course they're incompatible. But rather than having two databases on two different servers with the same information, I was going to redirect (let's make this a bit clearer) visitors to my database, over to yours - where it's all nice and integrated with the other AmigaOne/OS4 information.

The reason for "incompatible" compatibility status is that if something is not listed you don't know whether it isn't listed because nobody has ever tried running it, or isn't listed because it doesn't work (they are two entirely separate things, of course).

And, yes, I did have updates and the URL I wasn't having a go, just commenting that my db could have been redirected to intuitionbase when it went live, had I had a specific "go live" date beforehand. No harm done.

Chris

After having visited the site more than 10 times...

Future improvement ideas:
- "recent site updates" or "history" would be nice (automatically generated, perhaps?)
for SW compatibility list:
- not working and not tested status would also be usefull
- mention about if AOS4 native apps use new AOS4 API features

Questions:
- is "via AOS4 UAE" a valid mention for the "compatibility" column?
- how about "via AOS3.x ShapeShifter"

I really would like to see one place where all of that is mentioned or listed for AOS apps.

@Ryu
I wish you strength to "keep cool" with those agitating things that you cant control.
Let the banana cheer you up:

BTW. here's some "forthcoming" apps list:
http://glames.online.fr/amigaos/software.html Does anyone know if those are still on their way to AOS4.
