A very good review, filled in some of the gaps nicely.

Now all that's left is to play the waiting game by the letterbox....

.... Letterbox game sucks. I'm going to lunch.

This is really getting hard, I read the review twice, just to feel what it would be like to install my own. I am going insane.

Very detailed and well written - marvellous review indeed, many thanks SieGeL.

The only bad thing in the review is that it makes my wait even more painful! OS4 pre-release CD of mine, where art thou?!

Seppo

P.S. Now a review from somebody who has successfully made a dual-booting system (OS4, Linux) would be nice, too

@GregS

Funny that, I've been getting strange looks off the postman through the letterbox recently....wonder why?

Why ? Do you mean, you're not sure how to install it ? In this case, I'm here. Feel free to ask...

Nice review.

One bitchy complaint however, it really annoys me when I see multilingual websites when the route to chosing the English language version is through an American flag. Shouldn't the name of the language be a clue as to what kind of should be used (Union Jack, St George's Flag)?

Oh, and by the way I am in America.

@evilFrog,

Yeah, that letter box game really does suck. Especially when half a ton of junk mail lands on your head!

Anyone got OS4 CD in the UK yet?

Nice review by the way.

@siegel

A nice "first impression" review, indeed...

Now that the first coders/developers have their OS4pre I hope to see some ported tools soon...

@elwood

Frist thanks for your review.

In your review you said you used:

"All 4 partitions are using the new DOS/7 FFS Filesystem with support for Long Filenames!"

May question is open to all. How does the new DOS/7 FFS Filesystem compare to say SFS?
Just wondering.

Thanks

@Kromjuice:
Yeah you are right, I do not like the flags anyway, and the site determines the language now depending on your browsers' language setting, so just ignore the flags, they will gone very soon :)

@all: Nice to hear that you all understand my english I was a little afraid that I have made too many mistakes while writing this, but this seems not the case hehe

Hi,

Yup, nice review.

There is no floppy support, right? And how about the USB support? Can I stick in a memory stick for file swapping?

My dealer has not got the cd's yet. Maybe tuesday/wednesday and then they have to be shipped all the way to Thailand. So not this week for me and maybe the week after at the end or weekend. Guess when I have to go away for a few days? Right!

Very nice read SieGeL. Your english too is good is very

Seriously though. This is simply a write up of what had to be done to get things running (Except a few of the writers opinions, which are very welcome), very informative & yes... Makes the wait even harder.

They're not daft, those postal workers. They know that while we are normally patient, if we are angered, then it will only take a look in their direction to steal their soul....

They must pray that the post for tomorrow appeases us. Or else fear the wrath.

And if I get more of those credit card offers, then they will get a double helping of wrath.

@Coder: AFAIK neither Floppy nor USB is supported in Pre, so I would say you have to wait for the final to put in your Memory Stick ;)
