Internet News   Internet News : Amigart.com may be no more
posted by MikeB on 4-Jul-2004 11:19:09 (4600 reads)
Guvenc Kaplan and Sinan Gürkan have written a statement about their recent troubles with hackers at the Amigart.com news portal: "We are very sorry to inform you that Amigart.com may be no more. Since 1997, we tried to publish news for the Amiga related communities and are now very, very tired of the consequences of hacker attacks done to our site lately."

Sinan recently demonstrated AmigaOS 4.0 and MicroA1 on Turkish Technology Channel TV.

Hi

this should be a defeat for you and ALL the Amiga community and a "victory" for those cowards morons.

IIRC, someone has offered a more secure server for your portal.

Is it right?

Come on Guvenc Kaplan and Sinan Gürkan . . . stay up

Ciao

Yeah, they guys responsible most likely think that they are the coolest guys in the world. And cheering "we took down amigaart!" inside their little club of mutual admiration, laughing at making the headlines of other sites. Real achievers ehh?

Hi,

My nick is Ali'bi at Amigart. I wrote something to them at amiga.gen.tr forum. Stopping Amigart means accept what hackers wants. So somebody must continue.

Notice to the hackers who have been harassing Amigart:
Anyone can be a tough guy when operating anonymously on the Internet. But at the end of the day, it's the real world which counts. If I ever meet you, I'll gladly demonstrate that fact.

My sympathy to the Amigart team. I hope you choose to continue your work, and not let these losers get their way.

Guvenc and Sinan,

I can understand your feelings as it's truly quite demotivating to see your efforts disrespected and attacked like this.

Childish acts like these do indeed kill enthusiasm for hobby efforts. IMO a hobby without having fun is a rather worthless hobby... So whatever you decide you've got my respect and support.

Thanks alot for all your past efforts!

Having my Amiga sites hacked or vandalised a few times, I can appreciate the feelings you must have, but I wouldn't let a few idots get in the way of what you want to do - if you feel you want to continue. On a more practical note, I know there are plenty of very experienced webmasters around here who would almost certainly be able to help you secure your server, and there's always Nukecops for more specific fixes.

Although they have probably got more than one hosting offer already, I would just like to point out for the record that I'm more than willing to host Amigart.com on my server. It's already been running MINDRELEASE.net for two years now and I've only had problems with hackers once (I think, it might have been false alarm).

I like this sentence. It shows that the free solution is not as safe as the pro-free people claim...

@ Amigart

You can stop this site, but be sure you can work actively for the Community. I mean for the good guyes in there. Go and work with the team of IntuitionBase.com, OS4 Depot, AW.net ...etc.
We need you. You may give up with your own site, but don't give up suporting Amigans...

I'm gonna find them..

Install toilets around their heads so that everyone in Amigadom can take a dump on them. What is more - I will not bother to install a flush.

In time their heads will be caked in ####. It will harden around them. The toilet will then be broken to leave them with this brown concrete like heap of dried out pooh permanatly affixed to their faces. They will then spend the rest of their days known as the #### heads. They will then be taken to a zoo and used as an adventure playgorund for dung beatles. Small children wll come from far and wide to laugh at them and jab them through the bars, with big sticks.

Why the **** do you even bother attacking Amigaart/? - #### heads, please tell me why you doi it?

(Its 2.00am - cant sleep)
