The Space Shuttle Columbia, has broken up on re-entry to the Earth's atmosphere. A Nasa spokesman said: "Today a lot of astronauts died." The Columbia had a crew of seven.There has been no official confirmation of the disaster. Nasa lost touch with the Shuttle above Texas.

It is indeed a very sadenning event and a great loss to the families of the Astronaut's involved.

I don't think anyone would argue that these Astronauts that risk their lives to move the human race foward are all heroes. Sometimes it takes a sad event like this to remind us all of that.
