hardware OS4   hardware OS4 : Beta Wireless Network Driver Available
   posted by herewegoagain on 19-Sep-2004 15:02:40 (5592 reads)
A beta version of a new wireless network driver is available for download. It supports PCMCIA cards in the A1200/A600 and PCI cards on the AmigaOne.

For potential compatibility information, see Absolute Value System's directory of wireless chipsets. If a card's chipset is listed there as Orinoco, Agere or Prism (except the SSF version) and its bus type is PCMCIA or PCI, it is likely to work. If the card is listed there but doesn't match these requirements, it will definitely not work.

@Ncafferkey:

I`ve done a OS4 reaction gui for configuring your nice device driver.Check your account for the sources/os4 executable.
Will be nice to have it merged together with you device, or as a separate program to configure it.Maybe i`ll do a new version with Amidock Docky &application.library support.
Please get the source code from your account. i would try to do it if you don`t mind.

That's the thing that makes this community so great. I was thinking this morning that it would be nice if the driver included a docky that showed network signal strength or something.... Is that a possibility?

Also don't forget to upload it to OS4 Depot so that it's easily available for those who miss this thread.

@thread:
Actually, i`ve sent to Neil the sources and os4 executable of a early version of my gui, so it`s up to him to merge it with either his config program, or directly with his device.
I will reply to him any answer,enhacement to the gui sources and as i`m learning while writing code, i would be glad if he allow me to do the integration itself ;).

Anyway, it`s the creation of this small(in size) tools that does matter after all.I will be happy if it materializes in the long/short run.
