Internet News   Internet News : SourceForge.net now supports AmigaOS and MorphOS
   posted by tactica on 21-Oct-2004 20:51:51 (4008 reads)
SourceForge.net has just added the possibility of selecting AmigaOS and MorphOS as Operating System in their Trove categorization. This effectively means that one can now create a new project there and select his or her actual OS instead of being denigrated to pick "Other operating system"

Let's hope other organizations take notice.

Check http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?form_cat=236 to see AmigaOS at the top

Unfortunately both AmigaOS and MorphOS has been put in the wrong operating system category.

These should be under "Modern (Vendor-Supported) Desktop Operating Systems" not "Other Operating Systems".

Who will sort this out? It is important from a credibility point of view!

Thanks

@gregthecanuck

Hmm.. You are correct. It does appear that they are in the wrong catagory.

Kinda funny seeing Windows Server 2003 there. Implies that it is unsupported and not modern ..

Sourceforge makes a distinction between different Windows versions, but puts everything for AmigaOS under one label. There should be two: One 'other' label for AmigaOS

Aargh! I was going to say that there could be one for AOS >= 4 and one for AOS < 4. There might be too few projects in there though to make the split worthwhile.
