| One correction! Windows of Illusions homepage is http://woibbs.dyndns.org Sorry about the ! at the end of it. Also, for those of you that have never used a bulletin board system before, it is a text based service that was popular before the internet took over, but fun anyways. The AmigaOne has sure made the software run fast!

| Oh you got more then one correction in there, it's "Window of Illusion"! There is only one window and one illusion. LOL.... but that is ok. Also the address can also be used just as woibbs.org I do actually own the domain as well. The DynDns one is just a throw back to an eariler time.
Otherwise, good deal! I like this site Yogi thanks for turning me on to it. I got an answer to a question in under 5 minutes by just posting a message. =) |

| Hey Yogi, friend of mine brought this to my attention in what what you wrote. I am not mad or anything I was just was wondering how is Window of Illusion a "General BBS"? I know you wanted to mainly advertise your system, but Window of Illusion a lot more then that.
Window of Illusion is a free speech system so you can talk about anything you want. Also I have excellent games of Hack n' Slash and Wheel of Fortune going right now. We have free email and one local dial up node. My file base is kinda weak but that has more to do with files just being everywhere on the internet today. Message base is excellent though and reflects all aspects of users on the system. We are also home of The Port Zero Joinlink chat which links several BBSes conference system into one big one. Which you are also welcome to join if you want.
My web site is geared towards Window of Illusion BBS news. Although BBSes and web sites for which Window of Illusion BBS is aligned with, also get news about them posted on the main page. The web cams watch over the Amiga One and if your lucky you get to see me pulling out my hair while I work away on some new project. If you don't want to watch the web cam then read my journal entries on what I have been up to. Lastly the site has a lot of help for running CNet in WinUAE (since I did that for a while). A CNet manual is also on the site which gets helpful updates to it now and then. CNet 3rd party programs can also be found on the web site.
You might be wonder why I even bother with the BBS when the web site does all that cool stuff. Well, my answer to that is something I have thought a lot about. BBSes were around before the internet, but there are so many things most people do every day and don't know the origin of what they are doing. This amigaworld.net is a good example of what I mean. I would be willing to bet that the person who coded the PHP scripts had BBS a message base style system he was thinking of.
I am finding that BBSing is coming back, and not just to the people that used them back in the day. A new generation is catching on now, and so by running a BBS you are kind of passing the torch on. Well, unless it's a PC BBS software package... in which case you are just beating a dead horse. Gawd, I hate Synchronet! LOL
So, I don't mean to pick on ya Yogi. Still was cool to see the story on the site despite everything. I dunno what the attention span is of the average reader here. If it's like slashdot then I could understand the short blurb, but I like more info in my stories.

| Sorry Drew!
I wasn't quite sure how to advertise your BBS! :) Yes, I am running it on OS 4.0 as well! No linux here! I would also like to mention, we will have joinlink chat with Omega BBS tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 2nd) starting at 9pm. Come on by and chat with users from another BBS. Omega is another BBS running on an Amiga 4000! telnet://omegabbs.dyndns.org
Thanks,

| Well, I have to be fair and mention AmigaZ BBS which is my fellow system in the Port Zero Network. Offering a lot of good text files, online games, downloads, message bases and Usenet Newsgroups. AmigaZ is actually running on WinUAE (like Window of Illusion did for a year before the Amiga One) and let me tell you it runs real well.
http://www.amigaz.org telnet://amigaz.org
If I had to guess I would say that AmigaZ will be one of the next systems to go Amiga One.
