Nice, but we need a driver for the TV tuner and some kind of recording software for the (micro)A1.

Kind regards,

Dennis

Happily the TV-Tuner is independant of the computer.
You can watch TV even without the need to turn on the computer.
But a TV-recording software would be useful anyway.

Interesting case design. Shows things pointed in the right direction and, yes something like this would be handy with our micro-A1s, but I agree that control over the TV/tuner is a plus not a minus _ I want the tuner to be Amiga controled and be HDTV.

Actually, a version without the TV Tuner is also available for apprx. ? 50 less. Add a PCI tuner card and the whole thing runs through the computer.

Best regards,
Ron

There's no way around that when you are going to use standard PCI/AGP card with the output on the back o0f the card...

Cheers,
Ron

Nice !

looks really good, and creepily familiar...
...no relation to the Gateway/2000 era AmigaNG ? must've been inspired by it, but it looks really good !

Ron is this your own design? Or an off the shelf one?

The reason I ask is that I would also suggest a carry handle and some kind of rigid protection - the lugable nature of the design is a very good feature -- OK no Laptop but very versitile, especially for something that is close to being a domestic item. it also begs for a radio mouse/keyboard (or it seems to me that it does). Plus I would be very keen to have a digital tuner I got the impression this one may be analogue, adding another card wtching one channel while recording another via the micro would be nice indeed.

@Greg:
It's actually a design by Samsung.
Re TV Tuner, you mean DVB? Could be done in theory only to do it by a DVB PCI tuner you'd need some serious Amiga programmer to implement this.
It does have a carry handle btw and the one shown here was installed with a RF mouse/keyboard combination from Chicony:
this one
Which looks ok yet a bit silverish when compared to the case.

Cheers,
Ron

@ComputerCity

I can't see any room for a PCI card(well, one that coincides with a PCI slot anyway), have you got more pictures?

Other than that:
Cool

@Olegil
I have no more pictures here, sorry. It has room for 4 full-height cards though.

Unless I've misread this, its MicroATX not MiniITX so probably not

That said, it looks very nice - at my college we've got a few PCs like this, and they really reduce wiring clutter, as well as looking good

@ComputerCity:

Doh, I misread it and thought it was for mini-ITX.

Ok, µATX, _then_ I see the slots
Sorry, it's been that kinda week. Or month, whatever

This has had a strange effect on me, that Samsung would produce such a thing, means the small form factor is starting to bite -- and that bgeing the case we are seeing the beginings of real convergence and here the Amiga really will shine.

Thanks for the keyboard reference, the next problem is geting Smasung to make a widescreen version, but for that a good numbre of the present units will have to be sold.

I hope it will be possible to buy that with digital TV-tuner, because atleast here in the Finland analog tv-broadcasts will end in few years. Ofcourse you can always buy separate digibox, but it would be better if that build in tv tuner would support digital broadcasts.
