I wounder how many users www.a1k.org has that are not members of amigaworld.net. Mabe there are more people out there than we think?
I have several friends that used to be Amiga fans... at least a couple of them could be convinced to try out OS4. If that situation is the same all around the world, and we help out to promote OS4 it might just start something...

/Xter

I want to buy a copy of OS4 for Xmas...this year!!!

Found the website a little confusing, but apart from that more the more Amiga sites the better.

What is the story behind this Phoenix board?
Was it a new board for the A1?

@Elwood

The "Phoenix" is a rebuild of the A1000 board. The Story about how they get the boards is available here. (German only).

@ Hagbard_Celine

Karl Koch is alive?

Forgive my ignorance, but why would you want to rebuild the A1000 board?

@Mason

Thanks to your link I found there is a page about it on Amigahardware website: go here for more details about the board.

There is estimated to have been between 500 and 1000 production units of the A1000 phoenix made.

Not bad.

@Rudei

Technically it's a new motherboard for the A1000 case, with chips looted from an A500, and with Zorro2, video slot and SCSI-2.

But the answer to your question is of course "for fun".

Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.
