posted by NutsAboutAmiga on 22-Sep-2006 17:34:39 (3868 reads)
I have uploaded Catweasel floppy driver to OS4Depot
now finally you can start using your floppy drives to copy files out off,

This is the first Alfa version for AmigaOS4,
I hope developer’s whit more experience on storage media can fix the bugs...

I do not take any responsible for economic loss or data loss,
Writing is DISABLED

DEBUGING:

Start the “debugwindow” program from Shell, then mount the device.

It's currently in the upload queue

Are there drivers for other kinds of floppies? I've got a bunch of old CoCo floppies (5.25") with files on them that I might eventually need to search through again... Others out there might still have Commodore 64 floppies, Apple II floppies (also 5.25"), or even classic Mac floppies (3.5") to read. Is there a site that keeps track of what other floppy types are having drivers developed for on the catweasel, and what the status of each of them is?

I've actually got an old 3.5" and 5.25" floppy combo drive -- that is to say, it has two floppydrive mechanisms in the one device -- waiting to be inserted into an eventual catweasel-equipped AmigaOS4 machine. It uses the older type floppy connector used originally with 5.25" floppy drives, and I have a floppy ribbon-cable that has both the old-style and new-style floppy connectors on it. Oddly, the drive didn't read floppies right (didn't detect the presented floppy disk as bootable) unless I plugged the drive into the middle connector of the ribbon rather than the connector at the end of the ribbon. (I needed to use the combo-drive breifly on an ollllld peecee to boot it from a DOS boot disk, and that was the only peecee 3.5" drive I had on hand at the time...) >shrug<

Has anyone else used such a combo-drive on their catweasel?

Is this a device driver as in devs:multidisk.device or a utility for creating adf images to a filesystem ?
Reason i ask is because i have just downloaded it and the archive seems to contain your previous cwfloppy program or is it an update and rename.

What's an "Alfa" version? A version written by Alf?
