| So, who here has one of these already? If you do, could you do me a favor? Grasp the stick part of the joystick by the end and give it a twist or a twirl. Does it rotate? Or is it ridgidly locked in place so that it does not spin on its shaft? I once had a joystick that did that, and have encountered more than one other that have done that, way back when... and am hoping this isn't one of them. It is really irritating when you're playing a game, pressing on hard in a given direction, and unconsciously pressing the joystick with the part of the hand between the thumb and index finger while concentrating on button-mashing... only to suddenly find one's self moving diagonally instead of straight ahead because the shaft of the joystick rrrrolled against one's hand into the two-o'clock position...
It is impossible to judge this sort of thing in advance with mail-order joysticks... When I was working at a computer store that sold Amigas and peecees, we had ordered a set of joysticks, that were made for use with Amigas and Atari STs, that looked like a beautiful design. The bottom was a pistol-grip, with a fire-button positioned for the trigger finger, and it had a nice red stick on the top. Looked like it would be a great stick to use in fast moving games while standing up... but it turned out to have a fatal flaw: the stick part of it spun freely on the shaft, giving the results I've described above. It was such a disappointment, that stick, because otherwise it was a wonderful design!
Indeed, if someone made a new version of that stick, but with the... uh... spinningness of the stick corrected so it no longer rotates around the shaft, I'd eagerly buy one of those too... _________________ "I love peacenicks, they're so easy to conquer." --Ivan J Ironfist, the Dictator

| Years ago when I was a kid a friend had a joystick you could rotate. If I wasn't looking he'd turn the stick around when it was my turn.
A screwdriver and some very strong glue could probably have sorted out that joystick for you. |

| I didn't want one of these joysticks but I did put in an order for the USB one (which sold out at AmiWest before I could get one) and a few other things I simply must have.
P.S. It was nice to meet you at AmiWest 2006. You are doing an amazing job of business in such an incredibly tight market. Cheers! _________________ ExecSG Team Lead

Appreciate your continued support!
@ssolie Likewise - it was great to attend Amiwest this year and put names to faces. Thanks for the order! Next year we will try to anticipate what will sell better - the Competition Pro Joysticks and Commodore Books were very popular at the show. _________________ Amiga Kit Amiga Store Links: www.amigakit.com | New Products | A600GS

| This is the big disadvantage of this stick: All buttons have the same function: simple fire. There is no auto-fire or slow-mo, like the original Competition Pros had. But the production is ok. |
