| REALLY NICE!
P.S. But I've just got a Guru Meditation:
"ahx2006 Player Task"
RedZone not damaged Stack in the bounds
Any idea?
It happens mainly when I close a tab...

| Hmm.. nope. Can't reproduce that here. I tried opening a load of tabs, and closing them, closing tabs while music was playing... no crashes at all here. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6

| Fantastic - OS4 tracker!
Before I dust off the A1, can anyone tell me if it's MIDI compatible? (A la OctaMED) _________________ Robert -- A1XE G4, OS4.1. Peg1 G3, MOS 1.4. Abel Soul - Check out our tunes on Spotify

| Ahh.... bugger.
Still, looks like a nice piece of software all the same.
I'll give it a whirl next time the A1's running.
(would have tried it now if it had MIDI support) _________________ Robert -- A1XE G4, OS4.1. Peg1 G3, MOS 1.4. Abel Soul - Check out our tunes on Spotify

There's ProTracker for that :)
There's a fundamental difference between AHX and MOD, in MODs instruments are stored as digitized audio samples, while in AHX they're synthesized and generated in real time. Thus an AHX file will be much smaller than a MOD file.
I'd love to see Hively tracker evolve into something like FruityLoops, which also uses the synthesized instruments, but has more sophisticated waveform generators.Last edited by COBRA on 09-Dec-2006 at 09:27 AM.

| @painter ans Spot Its the Skins/SIDMonster-Heavy/itab_mid.png file, clicking on it play a music file, although its icon is a PNG.
I fixed by copying the file from the Light drawer and removing this file, HT then starts up!
P.S. Check you mail, ive sent u a little something!! Last edited by Curty on 09-Dec-2006 at 11:43 AM.

| I just re-downloaded the HT archive, and loaded the "Skins/SIDMonster-Heavy/itab_mid.png" file into a hex editor, and its a straightforward PNG file. Also, I can run the tracker fine from that downloaded icon. I don't understand what the problem could be. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6

AHX (formerly THX on the classic Amiga) is a synthetic tracker. The instruments are generated in realtime (from SINE waves, SAW waves etc) much like those from the 8-bit machines (C64's SID being a prime example).
In this regard, AHX/THX/HivelyTracker is a lot more like those chiptune composers of the past such as SoundMon and FutureComposer 1.x, or even the Synthetic mode in MED/OctaMED.
Hively does look really nice though, and anyone familiar with AHX/THX will be right at home with this application. _________________ Test sig (new)

Why you don't use your amiga one anymore ? |
Combination of things, including laziness. I recently swapped out my 15"CRT, which served both my A1 and WinXP box, for a 15" flat panel. Unfortunately, I forgot to adjust the resolution down to something the new monitor can display and haven't had the motivation to retrieve the CRT from the cupboard yet.
On top of that, I've started using Logic on my iBook and Reason on the PC more and more, meaning I have less reason to use HD-Rec. MIDI doesn't work with OctaMED under UAE on the A1 so.... until MED for Os4 comes out.....
Or another tracker with MIDI support. _________________ Robert -- A1XE G4, OS4.1. Peg1 G3, MOS 1.4. Abel Soul - Check out our tunes on Spotify
