Hardware News   Hardware News : PowerUp Registration: Update
   posted by DJBase on 4-Dec-2007 12:53:14 (3770 reads)
After the update earlier this year it is now time for the latest results about the PowerUP registrations. We do have now more than 520 registered PowerUP cards in our database.

A small list can be found here.

We are still counting...

My cyberstormPPC is not counted there... I'll make it count as soon as I can...

I've got a perfectly working CSPPC and CyberVision,
but can't be bothered to dismantle my Amiga to have a look.
Maybe register next time I give my Amiga a service.

Wol.

You don't have to disassemble your amiga to get the serial (except of the cybervision). Its possible to get it by software. But its everything explained on the page or is my english that bad?

Didn't realise anyone was interested in this info.
Will register my BPPC tonight when I get home.

@abalaban

Come on. Don't expect people to publish anybody personal data. On the other hand I don't think it would be useful if they publish a list of serial numbers. I guess you need take it for granted that they are doing it honestly.

Is that one OS4 compatible?

This device looks pretty simple? Would it be possible to copy this to get some "upgrade cards" for existing CS Mk2 cards?

Just an idea..

@mailman

I think you did not get me : I did not suggested that they published wrong numbers. Instead I was wondering how one with deficient memory (me for example) can check if he has already registered or not.

It was the only way to put a PPC on an A2000. The thing is that this equipment is very hard to find, only a few were made and a Cyberstorm was needed.

I am also in the BlizzardPPC + BVision owner who still have and use their cards but have not registered their cards cards online.

I will check my serials over the Christmas period then I get my Classic setup again to use OS4 on.

Some how I just have not found time to set it up again after moving in September,
partly I expect because winUAE as become so good in resent year that with my catweasel mk4 Amiga joysticks and the leftover bits of my A1200 converted into A USB
it feels just like my real Amiga.

I can't wait for the Holidays so I can start playing with my PPC board with another native PPC OS, I already have debian Linux PPC installed and the old demo of MorphOS installed.

Do you have the Pegasos version of MOS where you could try updating the files and have a full system?

@abalaban

I think someone/something is protecting the system for such things not to happen. If you post data which you posted before, they probably check whether it is or is not in the database. If it is, it will not be counted.

No I don't, but since I re-cased my A1200 into a newer smaller eyetech case and changed over to using a mediator bus board and PCI ethernet card instead of my hydra pcmcia card I have not booted morphos as it is of limited use without network support.

I also plan to use my morphos drive space to install OS4 instead, but I will backup my install first so I can put it back if I change my mind.

When there is support for running morphos on a new small form factor board I may buy one to play with again as I quiet liked morphos.

not 100% sure to have understood you but a MOS 1.4.5 for PowerUP full (and free) is available since 2 years at least.
