Internet News   Internet News : AmigaForever.com: New Contact, Support and Registration Forms
posted by mcb on 14-Jul-2008 1:13:08 (5744 reads)
New contact, support and registration forms are online at amigaforever.com.

We would like to remind all Amiga Forever customers that several updates have been published since the original release of Amiga Forever 2008. These solve all reported issues, including a slowdown with some display cards and drivers. Select Tools/Check for Updates in the Amiga Forever player to see if you have the latest version.

At the same time, we would like to note that due to the increasing activity of spam-submitting robots, which were causing hundreds of posts per day, the forms now employ a captcha confirmation. This replaces the previous filter introduced on June 18, which regretfully also may have blocked a few legitimate mails. If you submitted a message on or after June 18, and have not yet received a reply, please resubmit it. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Your Amiga Forever Team

Thanks for the update and continued support on this excellent program, however I did order the Premium Version but never got my Physical copy and tried to send an email about it twice with no reply, im not to fuss about it, as I do have most of the videos from my AmigaForever6 copy but i would of liked to seen them in DVD quality. Any way thanks for a great program.

Hi All,

I've sent numerous emails directly to email addresses I have and also via the support page, still no response.

I've been awaiting my copy also since the release date.

I hope someone from the company is reading this..and can explain why some of us still haven't received our orders.

it is an excellent product..

Adrian

Well I got a reply from Avangate Support (the people who processed the order) saying

"The only product corresponding to order ref. no. -------------- is the DOWNLOADABLE version of Amiga Forever 2008 Premium Edition. This order's information does not include any physical storage device containing the software."

wich is a little odd as the Premium edition is meat to be the physical CD/DVD version and the download is just an extra bonus so you don't have to wait. I hope cloanto can give me answer about whats going on.

Well good luck in getting an answer from cloanto as they have not bothered their ae*se in replying to any of my email's and frankly my patience is rapidly failing as forty odd quid is a bit of money to throw down the drain nowadays.

The same is true of purchases made via share*it! However, the order form specifies the Premium Edition Upgrade is a "physical" "Delivery" not "electronic". I have correspondence pending with both Cloanto and share*it! concerning this error(???).

Updates to follow.

My copy Amiga Forever 2008 arrived in yesterday's post/mail. So most of my ire has evaporated. But I'm still waiting to hear back from Cloanto/share*it! as to why the order process is so confusing, or should I say confused?

I replied to a few customers who posted here via private mail to see if this has been completely resolved, and also posted a similar note at amiga.org.

This deserves a public apology, so here I am. We will also be sending out a small present to customers who have been affected.

I'd also like to briefly explain the delays and what we are doing to cure this.

There was a backlog on orders for physical products in June (downloads always worked fine). In theory our goal was and is that our third-party e-commerce partners ship the physical goods within 24 hours of the order. This is what they are equipped to do better than we do. Unfortunately this is not operational yet. We are trying to see with them how to best adapt their system to provide both the instant download and the separate physical delivery. This is also the reason why some customers contacted Avangate or Share-It to inquire about their order, and were (incorrectly) told that the order had already been completed (with the download). In any case, the backlog should have been resolved several weeks ago, as we shipped some remaining products on their behalf.

We also did experience a series of email problems. This was both a server crash that prompted an upgrade, and a spam-related update (our web forms and email addresses were getting 1000+ spam mails/day) which however was overly aggressive. I believe this has now been corrected with the new reCaptcha-based forms. The email backlog is however not fully resolved. As Nicola is away (just got married!) I am going through the queue myself and will be following up personally on outstanding issues.

We are now shipping orders and answering emails normally. I expect that by August orders should ship directly by a choice of at least two different providers. This is what we are still working on.

Amiga life is not always easy and when these things happen we all feel the extra pressure. Thank you all for your patience and support.

Mike
