You just need some young thing to chase around the house. I'll leave the sex up to you.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

No Webcam. So probably all 4 AmigaOne ppl living in England show up. What a show.

18h boat trip, i couldn't even get a reservation that quick if i want one. (and plane tickets must be ordered 7days in advance)

And atleast they should update that homepage of Amiga North Thames. Hell, nothing useful on it.

Ah, nothing like a bit of pleasant optimism, eh?

Just got back from the meeting now. Think I missed the main demo of 4.1, but did get to play around on Mickey_C's A1 with it on. I haven't ever used OS4 before so I don't completely know what was new, however the responsiveness of the system was very impressive. Windows could be moved and resized very fluidly, with a cool transparent effect while you did this. Screen dragging was also extremely smooth. The new-style list views for drawers worked nicely, although it did seem a bit odd that (like on the icon view) you can scroll off the top or bottom of the list. Reboot times were very impressive although the system did freeze up several times, requiring a hard reset on one occasion (don't know if this was a hardware fault or what).

One more surprise (and also very impressive!) was seeing an alpha version of Chris_Y's port of NetSurf (a RiscOS browser) to OS4. It was still very much a work-in-progress (e.g. no vertical scrolling yet!) but rendered complex CSS layouts almost flawlessly, and much quicker than OWB. It's already got a basic Amiga-fied GUI, and looks like it could be an extremely cool application when it's done
