AmiWest Room Reservations "Lost"
posted on September 11, 2008 by amigaprez

Please Re-Reserve Your AmiWest 2008 Hotel Accommodations!

Because of this "parting of the ways" between the former hotel group and the new owners, all reservations made before September 8, 2008 have been "lost."
Therefore, it is imperative that those of you who had already made your reservations contact the hotel to make them AGAIN. Please see the new hotel website at http://www.capitolcityhotel.com

Mention that you are attending AmiWest 2008 which should net a special rate.
If those with whom you speak seem clueless, please contact Chuck Washburn at chela@calweb.com with your information and we will attempt to resolve any
problems.

Again, this is a time of transition. We expect that any difficulties will be favorably resolved.
Thanks for your patience and cooperation.
See you at AmiWest 2008!

Seems the online travel sites are in the dark as well. Any site that finds the Clarion hotel will show no rooms for the show date, same thing with the new hotel name. If I can't find a good deal there, I'll stay at another close by, bad timing.

Some questions:

1. Is the banquet still on & at what price with the new owners?
2. They're not very well informed about the show & the special room rate at this point, so when will this all get re-clarified?

The blog clearly states nothing has changed so I don't see any
reason for re-clarification since it is already been done.

@ sundown

I called a few days ago and got the Amiwest rate of $69 a night. I think there was a brief hiccup during the change over but everything is back to normal now.

Cheers,

@tekmage

Yah, it seems to be sorted out now. See you at the show

I was able to phone up yesterday and get an AmiWest Rate room
without any problems at all.

Got sweet non stop flights from Vancouver via United as well.
