| With IBrowse all I see is empty grey boxes (with the boing ball background) I guess that's where the contents should be. _________________ AlexC's free OS4 software collection

| yes this is correct, I apologise, but for now OWB is the browser we had concentrated on, and for some reasn IBrowse cannot go into deeper drawers/folders
meaning, I have the index.html in the drawer IBrose Sees, but then IBrowse does not look further into the content Drawer which would allow IBrowse users to view text.
Maybe the owner or creator of IBrowse could fix this though, not sure.
But as far as I know, OWB is what most OS4 users are now using, so anyone that doesnt have OS4, well, I apologise.
Bearing in mind, we are looking or aiming into the future direction, not the classic direction atm, that doesnt mean that this wont change, if there is something we can bring onto a classic, then we will consider it still, even though this is not our main intentions.
Cheers.
P.S. Hope that was a fair and reasonable explanation. _________________ Courtesy of SAM440Flex & Amiga OS4.1 only Flex is 800mhz A1000 with Classic 520 Amiga OS3.2.1 AmiKit 12 MorphOS PowerBook G4 (which can play youtube vids)

Remember the time when IBrowse supported tables, not not frames? Well here there are tables used, for the links, according to the code. And they work. But the frames don't show, supposedly because they are encapsulated within css markups.
But still, I see no reason why it shouldn't work. I have viewed plenty of sites with IBrowse that looked alike to the CSS version on a modern browser. And although it visually looks nice BlitterSoft is not a complicated site, some menus and background graphics, and a text frame in the middle.
Frames have been supported on traditional Amiga browsers for yonks. And recently were regarded as an old fashioned idea. So in a way it is good to see a come back on an Amiga site. |

Speaking of, could you fix one thing for me? When I view the site on OS4 with OWB, the text frame has arrow gadgets ar the far top and bottom of the scroller. Well this reminds me of Windows! Please, can it be recoded so they appear in the modern Amiga layout?! Last edited by Hypex on 22-Jul-2009 at 05:03 AM.

Wouldn't it be easier and better just to fix the page so it works in all browsers - this isn't the Windows world

Not me, I only use OWB occasionally. IB still has the Amiga feel to it, OWB is just too much "ported" for my tastes. Plus I expect a browser to have a nice MUI interface. Now if onply OWB had been written using MUI !
Bill.
PS. Has your DU CD arrived in Oz yet ? |

| I am sorry to inform you guys about this, but I am part of the modern generation, and am young indeed versus the whole local amiga club I go to, which are 10 plus years older than me. No one is even close to my age there.
So in my viewpoint, OWB is far better and nicer to use, and still does not have a windows feel to it, hence I use it only.
Only time I have considered using IBrowse again, is maybe for getvideo, which also doesnt seem to work too well atm on my system.
AND
It does work for all Browsers that are part of the modern age, FireFox, IceWeasel, OWB, Opera, even Internet Explorer can atleast view it with text, even if it is a crap browser. Then theres Safari, Chrome, and many more.
SO
Again, without getting into peoples feelings here, I am simply catering for the OS4 market and not the classical market, and if there are OS4 users out there, wishing to use an outdated browser, thats supposedly meant to be new and refreshed(2006 version) well, sorry, but IBrowse is clearly lacking the important part of a browser.
ON that note, it must be stated, I prefer a browser rather than a newspaper look and feel browser like IBrowse.
@Hypex
Why dont you tell me this when Daniel Fellner is around? I am sure Plagueis will have something to say about your thoughts.
Otherwords
Why complain to me only about it when it was a joint effort?
haha, BTW, that something you sent via email yesterday crashes on me, and it almost wants to work. I'll send you a crashlog If I can, or some info about it. Interesting experiment you have done there though. _________________ Courtesy of SAM440Flex & Amiga OS4.1 only Flex is 800mhz A1000 with Classic 520 Amiga OS3.2.1 AmiKit 12 MorphOS PowerBook G4 (which can play youtube vids)
