Events   Events : AmiWest 2009 is just 10 weeks away!
posted by tekmage on 9-Aug-2009 2:58:26 (2383 reads)
Hi All!

With AmiWest 2009 on October 16 through the 18th in Sacramento, California, it's just 2 and a half months away. Time to start making your plans to attend! This year will be a different show from the last few years with a number ways: a Classic Clinic Friday night, seminars, and a show floor open both Saturday and Sunday.

The Classic Clinic is a chance for folks to bring their classic Amigas for a tune up. Got an old battery that needs replacing, have an expansion card to install, or want to migrate to Amiga Forever. There will be a number of folks with the tools and the time to help you
out. This will be happening Friday night at 5 pm and free food will be served! Special thanks to Computer Connections for their generous support to make this happen.

Seminars will be happening before the show opens Saturday and Sunday. The topics and schedule are still being worked out but expect seminars on using Amiga OS4.1, Programming, and expert advice on major Amiga applications. We hope to have a list of the seminars and their schedule published about a month before the show. We will also have an area on the show floor for presentations of new software. If you would like host a seminar or present during the show please contact us at info(at)amiwest.net

Return of two full days of the show floor! We have the space for both Saturday and Sunday with free admission courtesy of Amigakit and Individual Computers. The show will open at 11 am, after the seminars and close at 5 PM Saturday and 2 PM Sunday.

Logo Contest! The final note is that AmiWest is looking for a new logo for this years show. Please see amigaprez.wordpress.com for more details.

Who do we contact if we need repair work? I have a 4000T with audio problems.

Why is Sacramento spelled wrong?

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

AmiWest is always a blast and everybody is friendly whether they be AmigaOS fans, AROS fans or MorphOS fans.

Hey Darth_X, I dare you to come...

If time and money were no object I'd be there in a flash

Me too.

Currently, the closest I'm likely to get is the U.S. East Coast, and that won't be until probably some time next August (2010).

Anything interesting going to happen then and there?

Best regards,

Niels

I will be there.I also plan on bringing a few packages of freshley smoked salmon and halibut for everybody to snack on.
I might have my Sam440EP 667mHz for sale and buy a SamFlex if they will have them for sale.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
