| Does that mean 6.0 will be made for 68K? _________________ A3000D (16mhz, 2MB Chip, 4MB Fast, SCSI (300+MB), SuperGen Genlock, Kick 3.1) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in my day, we didn't have water. So if I order the 68k version today I will most likely get my $99 back in months, so it's basically free?
Quote:
Purchase the current version of Aladdin 4D 5.0 from now until October 5th, 2009 and get a free upgrade to Aladdin 4D 6.0 on the platform of your choice when it ships. Aladdin 4D 5.0 will be available as a instant download with PDF manual once you purchase it. If for some reason we do not ship Aladdin 4D 6.0 on the platform of your choice in the next 12 months then your money will be refunded and you will get to keep Aladdin 4D 5.0 as a free gift. |
Maybe I'm confused as to what my choices are. I see my choice cannot be Windows....
Quote:
This offer does not included the Windows version of Aladdin 4D |
So 68k won't be an option and either will Windows. What will the choices be?
Not trying to be an ass, but I'm trying to figure out what happens if I buy the 68k version today....
Quote:
Buy Aladdin 4D 5.0 Instant Download below for your Amiga Forever 2009, WinUAE, E-UAE, Classic Amiga, Amiga OS 4.x & MorphOS 2.3. |
So if I buy the 68k version and there is no 6.0 do I get my $99 back or do I get a full version for Mac/OS4 (or whatever the choices are) instead of an upgrade of 6.0? _________________ A3000D (16mhz, 2MB Chip, 4MB Fast, SCSI (300+MB), SuperGen Genlock, Kick 3.1) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in my day, we didn't have water. If we fail to deliver the updated versions in 12 months then yes it will be free and you will get a refund. Last edited by DiscreetFX on 25-Sep-2009 at 09:51 PM.

Yeah, but now I'd feel bad knowing your just giving it to me. (Well, you hold on to my money for a year, but...)
This sounds like a really good deal! _________________ A3000D (16mhz, 2MB Chip, 4MB Fast, SCSI (300+MB), SuperGen Genlock, Kick 3.1) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in my day, we didn't have water. Not sure I understand your response. The v6 ppc version is $99, if they don't deliver the ppc version in 12 months, you get your money back.
To sum it up, you'll most likely end up paying $99 for both the 68k & ppc version of Aladdin. A good deal if you have a fast classic & an A1/SAM.
Or are you guessing DiscreetFX won't come through with v6?
@DiscreetFX
Any upgrade offers for those of us who bought Aladdin v5 from NovaDesign? I don't need another v5 copy, so I'll wait. _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid...

We had no control of the product when it was with Nova but what we can do is offer it for $79.95 if you have proof of purchase. You would have to e-mail the proof first then you would get a Paypal invoice sent to you for $79.95. What you would be doing effectively is buying a 2nd seat of Aladdin 4D that is fully upgradable to 6.0. You would still retain your first seat and it would be a license for 5.0 that would need to upgraded later to a full 6.0 license or unlimited license if you need to run more than one copy simultaneously. _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer.

| Don't forget if you buy LightWave 3D 9.6 for Mac OS X within the next six months and send us a copy of your invoice you get $50 back. It's kind of a great deal all around.

Well, they don't say anything about PPC, it says if they don't deliver v6 "on the platform of you choice" (I'm ordering the 68k version) then you get the $99 back.

Not guessing they won't but a few posts up they said "We might do a 68k version but it's not high on the priority list."
I want to buy the 68k version for $99.
When I read the news article it basically sounded like they are just giving the 68k v5 away for free almost (as I didn't see anything about plans for v6 on 68k)
So, I "think" , I can buy the 68k v5..then assuming they have no plans to make a v6 68k, I basically automatically get the $99 back in 12 months.
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather receive a 68k v6 in the mail 12 months from now, but as they said that is unlikely, I guess there just giving away the 68k version free basically (albeit they hold on to your $99 for 12 months)
So I think I'm gonna order a copy. So my expectation is I'll have v5 for 68k and in 12 months I'll get my $99 back. (Though like I said I'd be more excited if v6 for 68k showed up at more door instead of my $99!!) _________________ A3000D (16mhz, 2MB Chip, 4MB Fast, SCSI (300+MB), SuperGen Genlock, Kick 3.1) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in my day, we didn't have water. Those fancy OSes with their 24 bits and their "P" "P" "C" chips. Back in my day we had 7mhz, and we liked it!!
We'd wait 2 days for something to render then go "nope" change one thing and hit render again, wait 2 days then go "nope" and change something, wait 2 days.... It kept us out of trouble! Didn't see us using gettin' into that mare e wanna stuff. No sir. Just waiting at the computer screen for days on end. _________________ A3000D (16mhz, 2MB Chip, 4MB Fast, SCSI (300+MB), SuperGen Genlock, Kick 3.1) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in my day, we didn't have water. Your not using Aladdin 4D on Amiga Forever then. Because rendering would be instant with that type of setup. _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer.

| Does it support animation (like Cinema 4D f.e.)? If it does, then the 4th dimension is obviously time. Last edited by salass00 on 26-Sep-2009 at 04:16 PM.
