Events   Events : Audio and Video steams from Amiwest 2009
   posted by tekmage on 13-Oct-2009 7:19:24 (3977 reads)
Hi all!

Just wanted to drop an official note about the audio and video streams from this years Amiwest show starting Friday. This years show should be great! We'll have the classic clinic on Friday night, the show with seminars and other presentations Saturday, a banquet with a panel of speakers Saturday night, and wrap it up Sunday with some more presentations.

As all ways I'll do my best to bring as much as the show to the net as I can :)

For more details and the latest information check out:
UGN website

Thanks and hope to see you online!

I'll be shooting plenty of video at this year's AmiWest for eventual posting to the Net.

@ssolie

LOL how you would know? Your always there! :p

@all

I've gotten the Windows streaming machine up and running this weekend. Today I got the webcam machine working. Just need to get internet at the hotel and we should be rocking.

Is it Friday yet?

For anyone using the Opera browser I threw together an Amiwest Widget.

Amiwest.wgt

You should be able to click the link above and it will add itself. It will give a warning that it's not from widgets.opera.com , but I don't think I'll put it up there since it's only useful for a short period.

Right now since there is no UGN audio stream it's streaming Nectarine radio, so it at least has some use until Friday.

@tekmage

You're video & audio streams are always appreciated by people (like me) who are too far away to attend. Thanks.

Hans

great news.

It would be helpful to know what time the audio/video/IRC feeds will start for FRI/SAT/SUN.

IRC #amiwest09 ? server ?

@asymetrix
I believe that PDT is 8 hours behind GMT. Therefore Saturday showstart at 11am PDT means 7pm GMT, and Hyperion's talk at 2pm PDT is 10pm GMT. ???

@ChrisH

The times listed at:
http://linux.tc3net.com/~tekmage/ugn

are often listed before show details are firmed up.
Unfortunately, they can't keep all the info current since they have to travel the same day they set things up.

The seminars (as early as 10:00 a.m.) were added after the fact.

The key line from Bill here is "As all ways I'll do my best to bring as much as the show to the net as I can"
Technical issues at Amiwest would not be anything new. The hotel has presented challenges in the past regarding setting up equipment.
We'll just have to exercise some patience.
