Events   Events : AmiWest 2010 broadcast
posted by Ryu on 18-Oct-2010 16:13:33 (3848 reads)
IntuitionBase.com in collaboration with ZiaSpace.com are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the live video stream from this years AmiWest show.

Bill Bosari has for the past few years broadcast from the event and for the past couple we have been hosting the video feed.

This years show should be the best yet with a fantastic guest list.

This years video feed should be even better still with a video toaster in the mix doing video switching and titling.

Make sure you all tune in on http://stream.ziaspace.com:8000

For those that cant view the feed there will also be an audio feed from Bill

Forgive me if this is a dumb request, but what date and times are the streams.

It's not a dumb question. I think this is just another early announcement, which will lead to the release of exact times.

The main Amiwest thread has links for everything, including broadcast and I will keep the thread up to date.

@Ryu

When you have a firmer idea of any definite times, please post again here and I'll copy them to the Amiwest thread.
Thanks.

Sorry about that guys should of put more thought into the wording of the item, serves me right typing it out on my phone!

The schedule is yet to be confirmed but I hope to broadcast the banquet. I think it'll be cool using a video toaster system to do the video switching etc too

My thanks go out to ZiaSpace.com for giving IntuitionBase.com a home for all these years and for supporting my amiga habit like this.

If anyone has a few pence free and are intending on tuning in please feel free to donate via IntuitionBase.com. It'd be nice to be able to send a little thankyou back to ZiaSpace.

Seems Bill has inserted the url now into the broadcast page:
http://www.amiwest.net/broadcast/index.html

So far so good.

Thanks for keeping that thread up to date #6.

This new thing for this year is a video toaster. After a few weekends of work I've managed to get an A2000 with a Video Toaster 2000 and 3 TBC cards up and running! The camera's from the show will run in to the Toaster then to a PC for broadcasting. Expect lots of silly toaster FX and transitions, hopefully few crashes.

On a personal note, I'll be attending a wedding Friday in Las Vegas and won't arrive to the show till afternoon Saturday. Lucky, Alex and Tony will be helping out to get the gear setup.

I think it's going to be a great event this year. If your in Sacramento or the surrounding area and NOT attending due to my broadcast, shame on you!

PS Start time? As soon as we can :)

I've done that before. In one city one day for an event... fly out to another city the next day for a different event. :)

Don't worry, Bill... I'll be videotaping, too,

oh and can we have all speeches recorded please, for example :

1PM Carl S

3 PM – Steven Solie

11 AM – Jaimie Krueger, Bit by Bit Software

and copies of slides

If anyone needs better equipment- setup a donation button, I am sure we can chip in.

I wont mind donating towards hiring a professional video company and professional photos we can use for promotion work and news sites.

I'll admit that a statement of intent does not equate to ensuing reality in all cases, but I copied the Amiwest President's statement as well into post #1:

Quote:
This year, our video stream to the internet, including these seminars, is being recorded for future reference. If successful, we hope to publish this in DVD format for an as-yet-to-be-determined contribution to AmiWest.

I suggest you offer any help directly to Brian through his email address.
