| I'm not trying to pick on the poster but why exactly is this news? I thought this "issue" was cleared up by Fleecy some time ago in the Q&A. Just seems a bit tabloid-ish for this web site. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead

| It's news ssolie. What it means is, people can stop harassing the auction company...
You see, as reported on another site, it came out that people from this community were being rude and demanding this correction.
So, these people need to know, they can stop harassing Murphy auctions now, the company is just doing their job. |

Which is? To spread highly inaccurate information and distribute food for trolls?
This is the second time they screwed up in a very short period of time. IMO they should know their business better.
@ ssolie
I agree. Almost everyone already knew these statements were fake. But there were dozens of trolls out there insisting and pretending that this nonsense was true and so they may have caused some doubts amongst some newer folk visiting Amiga (and even general tech) websites. |

| Hmmm ... I also recall a certain AInc official on AmigaWorld IRC say "the last word is not said" because there were things AInc could settle with the auction firm before the auction date (or something to that effect - I don't have any logs of it). Since the auction is today, am I to assume those efforts were not sucessful? . SlimJim |

I don't think Fleecy is in a very 'believable' position now. It's not because Fleecy said so in the QA that we should believe that, on the contrary.
Is this news? Ofcourse it's news. It's the ONLY news from AmigaInc we have had for the past 2 or so years. It's news because there is not other news. It's like in holidays when tv companies show the most silly things in their news bradcasts just because there is no other news.
Wow cool! AmigaInc is not out of business yet! Great stuff.

| @z5 > It's news because there is not other news.
I hear you. Perhaps if some of the OS4 on Tour guys could produce a textual review of what they experienced we'd have something more meaningful to discuss. I still want to know how the system felt, first impressions, mouse movement with high system load, etc.
" Wow cool! AmigaInc is not out of business yet! Great stuff. "
I was reminded of one of Homer Simpsons' inventions called the "Everything is OK alarm." It would sound a deafening alarm every 3 seconds if everything was still OK. Perhaps we should get one. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead

| Everything is OK alarm...lmao, that was funny.
of course, the news here maybe that Amiga, Inc. corporate entity is not being auctioned off today, but I don't think the 'everything is ok' alarm would buzz...
@MikeB
the job they do, is auction things. That is what they were doing. They are good at that, I presume...maybe not so good at understanding all the subtle intricacies of language. I am more forgiving of a slight error, as typically a company having forfeited items go up for sale is in a bankrupt state.
Amiga, Inc. is bankrupt, but its true, they have not filed for bankruptcy. Murphy Auctions is certainly not auctioning of their corporate identity...although along with the items their reputation is certainly gone too...
Bankrupt, is not just a legal state, but also a financial condition describing a situation where a person's debts are greater than their assets...I know...lots of people are bankrupt by that definition.
But then again, thats language for you, words have meanings. I guess you know that, cause you were pretty upset about Murphy Auctions slight misuse of a couple words....can you complain about Murphy auctions slight misuse of language and complain about my correct usage of language, both at the same time?
I like consistent people... either words have meaning, or they don't.
Amiga, Inc. is bankrupt. I said it. It's true. |

| I want to explain something further, before starting a controversy.
You don't have to 'declare' bankruptcy to be bankrupt.
The opposite is true, you must already be bankrupt before you can declare bankruptcy.
Bankruptcy is being in an impoverished financial state. A like the one Bill McEwen has gone into court and described Amiga, Inc. as being in. Having debts, but being unable to pay them.
Amiga, Inc. is bankrupt. It's not trolling. Trolling is claiming they are not bankrupt. Because when people tell lies, that generates a response, sometimes an emotional one. This type of lying is trolling. |

Amiga Inc is not bankrupt, I believe you (and others) will soon feel (ok, some wouldn't really care as they only troll anonymously, just for the kick of it) and look foolish to present such bold statements as facts. IMO if one doesn't know any insider information then one shouldn't pretend one kowns all the facts neither.
It's pretty obvious however that Amiga Inc has gone through stormy weather just like many other companies and executives had to in the past. Ironically some seem to have forgotten their own past and now troll with things which they themselves had to go through as well. It's been hard but Amiga Inc is still standing and as devoted to realize their dreams as ever! |
