posted by gerograph on 2-Sep-2011 20:32:27 (3904 reads)
A-EON Technology will sponsor Amiganoid Event on 17th of September 2011 in Essen/Germany. This will help us to show you uptodate amiganoid systems. So come on, and join the party:

Start: 11am
Unperfekthaus
Room (Raum) 154
Friedrich-Ebert-Str. 18
45127 Essen-Stadtmitte

Besides A-EON sponsorship, there is even more news from MorphOS Team:
MorphOS can hopefully be registered live on the show and you can directly receive your Key there ! Plus... the boxed Version of MorphOS will probably be available as well. Mark 'bigfoot' Olsen, Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek, Nicolas 'henes' Sallin and Michael 'kiero' Wozniak from MorphOS Team will attend the show and can answer all your questions.

So, stay tuned at

Nice move, is that a sign that "2011 is year we come back" (with X1000)
as well as some more MOS / OS4 unity?

At least those are the feelings I have, based on what I experienced throughout organisation of the event. However it is a "come together" and I am looking forward to chat and meet all the people behind the different "Amiga flavours" (This word was found/introduced or at least heavily used by TrevorD). However my personal feeling as outsider is, that everybody will still exist in the future and that on some stages everybody will profit from the others (like in MUI-OWB).

Last year the same folks were present (more or less). Was a quite nice event.

I heard OS4.x must not be shown publically this year running on the X1000 - which seems a bit odd since it was shown last year running on such a machine already. So X1000 will only run Linux - pity!

MorphOS-Team is reported to show off something new, too.

Will probably go there again.

Yes, it was nice... keep in mind, that this event has a different approach to what we had in Essen the year before. It is more focused on "meet" and "talk". Rather than on showing of new or upcoming things. However, we hopefully will enjoy it even more.

I can confirm that. This is due to the fact that Trevor Dickinson is abroad plus no other official is registered yet. Betatesters are not allowed to show of AOS 4.x on A1X1000. At the moment we donnot even know wether one of the upcoming betatester can bring their board.
Last year X1000+AOS 4.x was just presented, due to the fact that we had the Trevor and the Friedens there.

Hower, you are wellcome, and have a good time over in Essen.

Wow! Wish I was in Europe. Looks promising latest OS4 stuff and Morphos too! New HW and software. Boy getting all those morphos devs together very rare! Like the Bilderburgers or something! ;)

@Darth_X
If MorphOS team would port MorphOS to X1000 for the amount A-EON sent us for the event, I would triple that amount, if they port it to x86.

However, back on (your) topic: Having MorphOS on X1000 would definitely expand both markets, so it would be a win/win situation. Most of the (Amiga) Pegasos Users have MorphOS on it as well, some of the MorphOS Pegasos Users also have AmigaOS on it as well (I guess). Keeping in mind that Trevor is open to "all Amiga flavours", I guess it is worth a "speculation"/ a thought.

If I remember well Trevor did already respond you (quote from an interview at the Amiga Roundtable):

I would like to see all operating systems on it, whether it is AROS, MorphOS, Linux, anything that has an Amiga flavor or can be run on it, because it is obviously good for the computer, good for the hardware. But, obviously we have limited resources. We don't have the funds to pay for the porting of the software and the linux ports will be done free of charge, and so anyone is free to port their software to the hardware when it is out and available.

Nice attitude from Trevor, but MorphOS team might really think about
porting MOS to SAMs and X1000 once avail - as strategy. Sure, it will be limited
sucess (like OS 4 on Peg) but more important it will finally end blue - red war
and make "fresh blood" hardware availiable for MOS users too.

If MOS 2 can work well on Efika, no reason why SAM`s and X1000 should be left out, with compliments for growing variety of PPC Macs MOS has been and will be avail for
