Well...here we go again....guessing time.

Once again somebody shouts COME SEE THE FANTASTIC OS4. Yeah like somebody cares for this particulary event.

We have seen and heard enough of this marketing #### from the OS4 circus. First OS4 tour was hyped like a circus, but when the day came nobody talked about it. Nobody wrote about it. Nobody cried....HEEEEY THIS IS FANTASTIC. Not a damn sound from anyone. It's like promising a kid a big party for his birthday....and when the day comes, he gets nothing but a nice new alphabet book.

And now this totally uninteresting post. Like we care hearing the same propaganda once again.

Stop killing the OS4 momentum...and start giving us some real surprises....so we wet our pants in joy.

I miss the old days when Commodore ran the buisness....way before internet and big forums, where everything is analysed to death even before one gets to see it.

I miss the surprises!! - and seeing this post is just so damn unintersting. If only they could write.

"COME SEE THE OFFICIAL DEMO OF OS4, RUNNING ON A1 HARDWARE - WE EVEN HAS 2 STUNNING GAMES PRODUCED BY WESTWOOD STUDIOS AND ELECTRONIC ARTS TO SHOW"

Now that would be a TRUE SURPRISE!!!

I LOOOOOOOOOVE SURPRISES

Will this be more of what we have already seen on the tour? Of course it will be in a more completed state, but will there be anything significant to see such as the OS being entirely PPC native or the default look completed?

Well, concidering this will be the first time (as far as I'm aware) that it is shown in public in the US, I think it is not so much of a problem to make a fanfare announcement. The show is still a month away, and Ben indicated that they could have alot more accomplished to present there, meaning most of the modules should be PPC by then, etc.

It wouldn't surprise me if they have more of a default look completed as a package. And judging the number of "first time exhibitors" going this year, something tells me there will probably be some other surprises that we haven't all heard about.

PS... The above is just my opinion

Look guys, Amiwest has and will be the place to see everyone show their products and too buy stuff. I have been to every Amiwest since it began and it is a great show! As a matter of fact, Floyd, and myself, have produced videos so the world may know what the heck is going on in USA. Kermit, Bill, Audiolabs, which we have shown every year with cheap Italian wine, have worked hard to promote the Amiga and its software and hardware. I will say this, none of us have made lots of money doing this the last few years, if that really matters, but we have had allot of fun and have produced great content that many in the world have enjoyed. We will of course produce a top-notch video for all of you to view, yet again, to watch and enjoy, or perhaps, bitch and scream. The choice is yours.

@ Hondo_DK

I don't undertand you that well. You say you love surprises, but actually you don't want to be surprised and want to know right away.

You state nobody wrote about the AOS on Tour events, while I just wrote a very extensive report here at AmigaWorld. Also note that a vast majority of people visiting these events until now don't speak English natively.

And this is not really a propaganda message and only a marketing message, like is being produced by many companies on a regular basis. Else you could call everything propaganda, including your own negative messages here at AmigaWorld.

Please stay calm and reasonable, in the spirit AmigaWorld was created and meant to be!

You mean you do not, quite a lot of other people do.

Most of the people that post on english speaking forums did not go to the first one.

I don't see you in there moaning at blueshirts with their propaganda-a-day posts on ANN....

Therein lies the problem for you, not that Hyperion or its helpers are doing a bad job of marketing its just weve all talked the subject to death.

Care to draw up an interesting version? So we can compare.......>

Now that would be a TRUE SURPRISE!!!

It would also be a lie, and then you would condemn Hyperion out of hand for lying. Plus I don't know how you can complain about the announcements use of English.

Quote:

I LOOOOOOOOOVE SURPRISES

Right, who doesn't but given all you seem to do these days is moan like a bitch about everything Hyperion does I don't think anyone can do anything to surprise you with the limited resources available. Perhaps you need to move on and get a Mac. Just a thought.

Well I'm sorry Honda_DK that that news post about an event relavent to a lot of people didn't rock your boat, maybe next time a news poster could throw in a few dancing girls and a cheap bottle of wine to keep him entertained

The news ain't just for you m8 and yes some people DO care about seeing OS4.

Even though it isn't true? Trying living in the real world m8, this is a small platform with a very long and slow future potentially ahead of it before/if it ever resurfaces in any strong form.

IF your post was a simple statement that you wish things were better in the amiga market then you really need to learn to write (as oppose to troll which so many pathetic people in the amiga community have ingrained in their systems).

Lets put this simply for you - if you haven't got anything useful to say don't bother posting.

If you're not going to support this platform with any passion then why do you bother being around? Passion is the only thing keeping this platform alive atm.

What is it with your negative waves????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I would be over the moon to have the opportunity to have a stab at OS4, even in its unfinished state!

@Bodie

Guess who'll be toying with AOS4 come this saturday?

It's not all certain I'll be able to put up a report though - I'll
be going home and might not have access to the 'web for a
while.
But - Let's see what happens.

@Hondo_DK

Well ... Maybe you really are very angry - all of the time as
it seems. Or you are not and are simply not very good at
presenting your thoughts in a calm and non-inflammable
way.

@reflect

In the sensible (but somewhat boring) vein of not
reading too much into announcements, let me
kindly remind you that this press release was most
likely not written by any official Hyperion-emplyee.
It's most likely he/she knows just as much/little as
we do about what is really going to be shown
concerning AOS4 at that time. The word "beta" was
probably forgotten (or left out, with the assumptions
everyone knows it's a beta anyhow).

There. You have been served a dish of specualtive
restraint. Enjoy!
