In other breaking news.. the first amiga laptop running a beta version of morphos 3.0 will be demonstrated at Amiwest 2011. Amigans have been waiting for a portable solution for more than 10 years and it is about to be relised!

Great News, I just hope they dont rush things with the beta test and Os4.2 to get the machine to market. I know that sounds daft and we all waited a lot longer than expected but I dont mind to much it give me time to save up more and I'd rather have a complete finished feel product.
Really looking forward to what demoed at Amiwest and I really hope they can give us a better idea of the end retail price.

Good luck whit the show everyone,

hope audio quality is better on videos this year, how about buying a directional microphone and stick in front instead of the back of the room please (you also get wireless microphones.)

Please remember this is just a small computer club putting on the show, its not a Las Vvegas production. Audio/video feeds & video files are done by ppl outside the club, you can thank RobertB for the video files & tekmage for the audio/video feed, but don't expect these ppl to buy special equipment with money out of their own pockets. Last year was a new Hotel, setup was wrong with a lot of things & placements, hopefully they'll learn from that, but I'm sure something won't be right for someone. I have heard that skype will be setup on a laptop for ppl that want to call in, should be fun if thats working.

Part of the problem was ambient noise. There were constant presentations competing with the attempts to cover the show floor.
This year the focus is more on table demonstrations and less formal presentation time. This alone should be an improvement.

In addition we are testing most equipment ahead of time and won't have the unfortunate scheduling conflict that Bill Borsari experienced last year at the show's beginning.

afaik, no. But this might be overkill anyway considering the hotel equipment, Bill's equipment and Viva Amiga all being on the floor.

Good, I'd like to see that!

I hope the tables have tall or overhead signs telling what is being presented on them. At an early show I think I walked right past stuff I wanted to see.

I haven't attended for a couple of years, so maybe that is not a problem now. Or maybe I just wasn't paying attention back then.

@Shufflepuck

Something new from MobbyG of AmigaRoundTable:

http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=59416

Looks like he's trying to organize a get together in the east, so he surely won't be at Amiwest.
