Events   Events : Silicon Dreams/VCF 2013 UK Tech Event
   posted by Mikey_C on 9-Jun-2013 15:40:35 (4173 reads)
The above event will be taking place on 5-7 JULY 2013 -
At SNIBSTON DISCOVERY MUSEUM, ASHBY ROAD, COALVILLE, LEICESTERSHIRE LE67 3LN.

The Saturday and Sunday are the general days for the public and it is when the Amiga area will be up and running.

Read more ---->

Present will be members of Amiga North Thames and we will have various Classic Amiga computers running classic games such as Stunt Car racer and multi-player Skidmarks on various tables.

Alongside the Classic Amiga stuff there will of course be new AmigaOS4.x machines running various bits and bobs.

In addition AROS and MOS will be represented.

I am proud to announce that AmigaKit and A-EON will be in attendance themselves and will be there throughout the whole weekend selling and demonstrating products.

On a personal note, this will be the last UK Amiga event I will be co-ordinating. It has been a frustrating experience this time round, with many emails going unanswered.

So, lets all have a final hoorah! - Hope to see you all there!

I have a brother in London so i was thinking about catching two birds with one stone, i.e. pay a visit to his family and come to the VCF... how easy/feasible is to get there from London in one day using public transportation?

Well its like 1-2 hours from London to Leicester by Rail and then a journey by car/or some other means for 26 miles from Leicester station. As I am not from Leicester myself I do not if there is a closer station to Coalville than this, however Leicester is the closest city.

@Nibunnoichi

It would be easier for you to fly to the East Midlands Airport than London Heathrow/Gatwick as it would be only 13 miles/22minutes away by car/taxi as opposed to a couple of hours!

Maybe your brother and his family could meet you there?

I'm 90 percent sure I will be able to attend one of the days, I enjoyed this show a few years ago, not just for the Amiga, but for all the other interesting tech, like a spectrum connected to twitter. Thanks for putting it on. I also hope to have youtube vids so is there going to be certain events or times I should try and be in the Amiga zone.

We are going!

Sadly, I regret that there is no one going from the AROS community.

@Nibunnoichi

http://www.transportdirect.info says it will take about 3 hours (only 1.5 of those is on the train, however).
If you fancy getting off at Bedford I can give you a lift the rest of the way (I could do with a navigator).

stephen jones can't make it? that's a shame. i would think some folks would have been interested in AROS, especially on the raspberry pi.

Perhaps some demos of the experimental multicore supporting aos4 kernel are shown....??

(but more realistically @ Amiwest...)
